Well the negatives is all our mpp's will go to shit, leaving us without allies. So yeah it will be invading a nation by ourselves, a nation we don't have the power to take on alone when they have allies. Also apparently their alliance and ours are on friendly terms. So my advice is to wait it out for a wee bit and war will come, I remember in my old days being called all sorts of names for calling for war with the uk, even though we fought norway for belfast.

That was the first souring of what was generally good relations, lol its all gone down hill from there. The first invasion of the north was a grand affair I had some good articles done for it.

There's ALWAYS some kinda agreement why not 🙁
Good to see it raised again though, a current territorial debate showing pros and cons would be useful.

We currently have a NAP with the eUK. We are also in supporting alliances. :/

If BigAnt wins their CP race and manages to pull them out of Sirius and into LETO or Asteria, that will change things a lot. I welcome any chance to slap them around, but we'd need to weigh the odds before launching the fight.

We're in Aurora, UK is in Sirius, those two alliances are cooperating and are helping eachother. By attacking UK we'd attack the whole Sirius too, means that wouldn't be possible to win because we'd lose at least half of our MPP's and I really doubt Aurora would support such a move just for teh lulz, at least not yet, our time will come, we just have to remain patient and know when is the time to start a war.

"Some gentleman's agreement?"

Not possible with the UK. Currently we're in sister alliances, though how long Sirius will survive is another story and also share several MPPs, which we'd lose if we declared war on the colonialists. Most of us would love to have a crack at them, though, if the situation is right.

Northern Ireland is a natural territory of the eUK as per game mechanics. Taking and holding the region long enough to get any practical benefit out of it is impossible as far as I can tell. This is because of how easy it is to drain another countries resources when you can constantly be RWing a natural territory back. It's how we won back our regions from the eUK some time back.

Even if the alliance situation wasn't what it is, the cost benefit on a war over N.I. is always going to be unfavourable on paper. The only real benefit is that most people find it fun to go to war with the eUK - I myself am kind of bored of that scenario, but i'm an extreme minority it seems. I had much more fun with our AS on eSlovenia than I ever did in any eUK war.

Also note that the next tournament that's coming up has defence shields as a prize - that means you have to fight through a damage wall before you make any progress in an attack on a region. As a result any war that happens after this tournament could end up being especially costly if either eIreland or eUK win defence shields - which could very likely happen.

As others have said, the reality is that right now, in order to declare war on the eUK, we would either have to betray our allies, or the eUK would have to move to Asteria. I don't see it in the cards.

Belfast is Irish, but the North One, North... Mean colder right ? So suddenly I'm not sure it's a good idea...

yea as far as AURORA is concerned and our position there, I would personally like to see that treaty to include some stronger more binding Language in it then what it currently has. it really is a bit of a loose document. leaves a lot of room for interpretative views, and the ability for member nations to kind of go their own way on things. just saying. 🙂
