April Showers bring May Flowers

Day 492, 06:49 Published in USA USA by Cromstar

Thank you to Pennsylvania residents for reelecting me by a large margin! It's an honor to be able to serve as your Congressman for a second term! Now that the election is over, it's time to get down to the nitty-gritty details of helping to run a nation. Since things sort of petered out the last week or two of this past Congress, I'm getting ready for a spurt of activity at the start of this one. Hopefully, I'll be able to capitalize on that momentum to get some projects of my own rolling.

First, Congress recently formed committees in order to study certain aspects of the eUSA with greater detail. I managed to get myself placed on the Military Committee, and it is my hope that this (our first full term as a committee) will provide the opportunity to help make sure all three military branches are organized, supplied, and working at peak efficiency.

Second, I've talked with a few other members of the last Congress, some of whom moved into the new one, and it's my hope to get a Constitutional Convention formed to draft up an eUS Constitution for Congress and the public to look over. However, my hope is that this will last for some time, as it would be detrimental to rush through the drafting process.

Third, and this falls outside of Congress but will be of interest to any CVP members, it's my hope to convince more people to use the CVP independent forums, as a way to get to know each other informally. Any CVPers who read this, I suggest you check-in if you haven't and start getting to know each other. If people start to use them, we can begin to put more business there as well (plus it will motivate me to make the forums look a little less sanitary and a bit more lived-in).

Finally, on April 4th, Congress will begin to evaluate the PANEC tax plan, and it is my hope that the data collected allows us to find ways to cut down taxes. I have always supported lowering the taxes payed by eAmerican citizens, and I suspect that we may find opportunities to do so.

Thank you, again, to Pennsylvania's fine citizens! I look forward to another month of progress and prosperity. As always, I'm willing to answer any questions, comments, and concerns of the citizens, so don't hesitate to contact me.
