Admin: You Done Goofed......Again!

Day 1,180, 16:19 Published in USA USA by csabo07

Hey there America!

You ready for me to get raged over another one of the admins' "improvements?" You better be!

So sit back, bitch and whine all you want, and enjoy the ranting! \o/

I'm sure you all have noticed the new changes put into place earlier this week. In a nutshell, the admin basically changed the looks of a few things by adding a very nice new interface for them. I would go into details with that, but Croy already covered just about everything concerning this in his newspaper, "Perpetual Motion." Check it out if you want to know more.

The new looks are not the reason I am writing. On the contrary, I really like those changes, and I'd like to see the admin do more stuff like it. No, I'm here to talk about companies, and how the admin succeeded in ruining yet another aspect of this game.

As part of these changes, companies are now only 10 gold, half the price that they were earlier. Sure, once you factor in the costs of a new land space, things total to around 20 gold anyway, but the real problem here is that everybody starts off with 3 free land spaces, as you can see below.

This means that every citizen can buy 3 companies at only 10 gold each. At that price, almost everybody can afford a company. The problem resides here.

With everybody buying companies, what will the effects be on supply and demand?

I'll tell you, they completely destroy the balance of supply and demand. Everybody has a company, and everybody is trying to sell their products. Mix in the ability to work for yourself, and what do you get?

A recipe for economic disaster.

Iron and grain are both currently currently selling at $0.07-$0.08 per unit. Care to think back a little bit? Just a few weeks ago, iron and grain were at $0.09-$0.10. Back in December, they were selling at $0.12-$0.14. There are simply too many resource owners, and not enough
buyers.

With the prices of raw material that low, the amount of profit is unnoticeable, it may even result in a net loss! Ever since those pesky changes, I have been making around $5 USD daily on each of my companies. (This involves paying my employees at job market wages, and selling my products at $0.08.)

Before this, I was making anywhere from $40-80 USD a day!

Our only hope is that things will settle down once everybody is out of free land. Even if that is the case, I cannot see things getting better, just staying as they are. Another solution would be to even out the supply and demand by getting more food and weapon companies. Sadly, these industries are failing as well, so unless there is a change there, we are stuck in this steaming piece of *censored* we call an economy.

Perhaps this isn't all that bad though. Maybe I'm just a greedy bastard. Honestly, with cheaper companies, we will get newer players as company owners. I remember back as a beginner myself, 20 gold just seemed so far out of reach. I thought I'd never make it. Faced with this adversity, a lot of newer players probably quit. Now with ownership within grasp, we might see more new players sticking with the game.

I suggest all of you company owners prepare for the worst. As I said in my last article about admin goofing up, keep extra money in your accounts, let off of the fighting a little bit, and keep your employees in line. I'm confident the admin will realize what they've done, and make things all joyful and peachy once more. (I can't even say that with a straight face)

Well, this has been your rant with csabo07, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Until next time, I hope you all make the best of things!
