A Prophet's Rumination of Himself
Venerable
Greetings,
I speak to you now of Myself.
Earlier today I received the pm above. I have removed the name, but I will tell you that they are a newer player, and have been trying to become active in a world it’s obvious they have yet to understand. As did we all, once upon a time. But none of this is important.
Onward we go.
Without thinking, I began to type: “I am the venerable Prophet of Mitos.”
And I couldn’t think of what to say next. I reconsidered the question. Did they want to know what I’ve achieved, or what makes me, “me?” What exactly were they asking for? What should I even say? Should I say everything?
I could have said that I’m a lifetime member of the Military Dictatorship Party, as I’ve been with the party for 12 of my almost 13 months of playing this game. My public activity goes up and down, but I’m almost always reading all of the media and leaving my two cents wherever I can. (I keep a jar of pennies with me at all times.)
I could have said that I’m the Faithful Commander of the Holy Order, the religious MU brainchild that I originally created as a joke with my dear friend Leo Balzac (aka Light of Palaero) and the lazy ass Simon Boucher-Ruest. I am very proud of the community that I have fostered, and I now count many of my Faithful among my closest eFriends.
I could have told them that I’m a financially struggling university student in the state of West Virginia in the US. Of course, I still manage to spend far too much money on alcohol, and I certainly didn’t get to create a badass MU while being frugal towards eRep gold.
But when it comes down to it, none of these describe who I am, just what I have done. Perhaps characteristics about my self would be a better idea.
I could have said that I consider myself a critical thinker. I believe I do a great job at looking at all sides, even if I’m blunt about my responses at times. This is perhaps the reason why I so enjoy my conversations with Plugson. I never know what he actually thinks, but I swear the two of us can debate circles around each other (Especially when I call him the Shameless Plug). This could also be why I like Funky Hum24n, because…. No, I guess I don’t like Funky
😉.
I could have said that I don’t agree with bullshitting. I can’t stand people that beat around the bush or are afraid to speak their mind, so they make up excuses. Even worse, I despise when people look down on people that tell it like they see it.
On that same point, I could have said that I don’t think morality or “judge of character” has anything to do with getting things done in this game. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if someone is an ass. This isn’t the real world. Children aren’t going to be corrupted if someone says “fuck,” no human rights movement is going to sue us if someone’s feelings get hurt. There is no mechanic for purity, no system of review, so it shouldn’t be considered.
I could have said everything aside, I value duty above all else. I believe in giving something your all, to every extent you reasonable can. This is touchy for me, because as most of you surely know my real life became… very unstable a few months ago, right after I led a crusade against an MDP PTO threat and won. I won, only to not have any real access to the game. Two subscription charges went into my account that I had believed I cancelled, and I overdrew significantly and received even bigger overdraft fees. I almost lost my apartment, went without internet and cable for a month, but picked up some hours through a family friend and saved everything. Aside from this, I’ve been active almost all of my 13 months.
But all of these are things I say about myself. Maybe a more accurate answer would come from what others think.
Others might say that I’m mean, cynical, lazy… Well maybe I don’t care what others think. Maybe that wasn’t such a great idea.
Anyway...
After all of that consideration, this is all I could come up with.
I think it was a good improvement.
Cheers,
The venerable Prophet of Mitos
Commander of the Holy Order

my god, you're ego is becoming insatiable, isn't it?
TETSUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
~hyuu~
I do like how you tell it like it is, even if I'm not on the 'there's no place for morality in politics' bandwagon (they should really rename that wagon to something a bit catchier and maybe throw in a theme song to make the point clearer).
Anyhow, that was interesting tale about RL 'instabilities' ~ thanks for sharing, but you wouldn't be trying to attract a pity vote, eh? (just teasing, course).
eCanada does owe ol' Venerable some gratitude for building up and MU that supplies a lot of damage, and without relying on tax dollars. On that point there is no debating in circles. We'll leave that for the rest of where we meet in the game ; )
Sounds like a plan to me.
And I'm not running for anything, that's the difference 😉.
Notice the article section I selected.
Doesn't matter where it was posted because I voted the article for the content. It is fascinating to learn more about other players in the game. You know me, I just like turning things around and sending them back in opposite directions (bad/shameless habit).
Good to have you back in the game. o7
Good Read!
Venerable, you're better than eating cereal at night.
He's the fucking venerable Prophet of Mitos.

This type of writing is beyond my understanding plz leave a dubbed down version of the article in the comments below.
" I can’t stand people that beat around the bush or are afraid to speak their mind, so they make up excuses. Even worse, I despise when people look down on people that tell it like they see it.
On that same point, I could have said that I don’t think morality or “judge of character” has anything to do with getting things done in this game. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if someone is an ass. This isn’t the real world." I had a good laugh at this, hypocrite much hahaaa.
Plus if you are so much in debt maybe you should think about sinking so much money into this game
I'am sorry to hear of your rl troubles though and I'm glad you were able to manage through it.
Nah Sabzii, I don't mind your game rule breaking ways. I just mind that you try and pretend to everyone in CW that you're a great guy. If you were honest about being an ass, I'd like you more.
Also, I haven't put any real money into the game since the birth of HO.
I bought a cheap back during the gift promo though.
"If you were honest about being an ass, I'd like you more.", funny I could say the same about you :}
Maybe you ignored everything I said up there.
I am an ass.
Anyway.
Everyone is an ass
Some are just better at it than others
"no human rights movement is going to sue us if someone’s feelings get hurt. There is no mechanic for purity, no system of review, so it shouldn’t be considered."
So doeas this mean that if there was no system of review in the real world you would do what it takes to get the job done ? I hope not, cuz I can hardley imagine you as someone who would kill children, women or people who belong to other race or religion to take oil resources or earn money. Every dictator started it like this and ended up dead.
All in all great article, really honest, I like it a lot.
You didn't insult CW or anyone from CW beacuse we are different so a HUGE VOTE from me!
Dude. What?
If anyone in this game started talking about killing children, Id tell them to fuckoff.
^ That has nothing to do with blunt honesty, being a verbal dick, or anything else I am talking about.
Also this wasn't a political article, or I would have at least dogged the Clan in a small way 😉
As a french-Canadian, do people even know how to read??? A lot of those comment as nothing to do with what you wrote Venerable... Anyways, as a RL Canadians, i am sorry for some of those comments RAEEE.
I don't know who the hell you are, and you don't know who the hell I am.
But I do like your article
Indeed.
You can tell Venerable is a nice guy cause I like him even though he's MDP.
hahahah nice
