XLYMPICS UPDATE - Day 3,188
 
Submissions for the first round of the XLYMPICS are now closed.  While we had almost 80 submissions, many competitors did not have time to enter.  Since we opened the competition on Monday afternoon and closed it mid-day today, that only gave competitors about 3 days to get submissions in.  Because of this, we are tweaking the competition a little.
 
Those who submitted by today are officially in the competition and judging is in progress, with submissions and scores scheduled to be posted on Monday - Day 3,191.  In addition, as a bonus, those of you who managed to get your submission in, in such short order, are going to get a little gift.  If you submitted for one event, XLC Chairman of Finance, Blande, will be sending you $500 cc just for entering.  If you submitted for two (2) or more events, Blande will be sending you $1,000 cc.  This bonus is courtesy of the generosity of John Killah and Tyler Bubblar.  Thanks gents!  🙂
 
BUT, if you signed up but haven't submitted yet, IT’S NOT TOO LATE.  We’ve arranged a second preliminary round (instead of semi-finals), with an extended deadline so you can still enter the XLMPICS!  Submissions are open NOW and will run through next Wednesday 8/17 (Day 3,193 until 23.59 server).  So if you’re registered to compete in the XLYMPICS and were unable to get your submission in, you still can!

Finally, if you submitted in the first round, but want to submit again – you can!  We’ll just count your highest score in terms of judging, so you aren’t at a disadvantage having possibly rushed your submission to make the first deadline.  Of course, if you’re happy with your original submission, there is no need to enter again.
 
There’s also been a change to the SICK BURN event if you’re signed up for it.  I realize it may have been asking a bit much for “original” jokes/insults, so we’ve totally opened it up.  Google a good put down or Yo Momma joke, send it in and you’re entered!  Heard a funny put down in a movie?  Use it.  Got a book of insult jokes?  Steal one.  Just make sure you pick ones that are funny! Bonus points may be awarded for original or really trenchant put downs.
 
Lastly, for DEBATE THIS! and MAD LIBS, all competitors will submit through the same group (link posted below).  There aren’t separate groups any longer.
