For quite some time now we have the weekly challenge that provides you, among others, with extra energy recovery and EB’s. Free rewards that can give you an advantage especially when you don’t get harmed by extra XP. So being Div 4 or having the Infantry Kit. At the start of the weekly challenge we often had epics which made scoring high Prestige Points (PP) rather easy. Nowadays the amount of epics is low and also mainly in the lower divisions. After WeekChange however there almost always are a few epic which makes it possible for players belonging to the right division or having a Maverick Pack (MP) to start the week with a high amount of Energy Recovery (ER) that way making sure they regain energy faster and be more active and/or fight harder.
But what’s the effect of doing so? Is it wise to drop a lot of damage and does it provide you with extra power/rewards or is it only costing you resources? I myself have been fighting in the first epics ever since the weekly challenge is there and saved loads of EB’s in the process. My main goal to start with always was to regain extra ER to be able to push harder and I know I save EB’s when gaining rough somewhere between 5-10k PP in the first epic. For optimum activity doing 20k PP immediately is the best as you get maximum ER. But what is the wisest amount if you want to save EB’s?
I did the math on that and do present it here to you all.
So how did I do that?
I used 3 base player profiles and made calculations with various amounts of investments in EB’s to score certain amounts of PP in the first epic of the week. With that amount of PP given the amount of ER for the rest of the week was calculated as well as the increase in PP. In all occasions I did the math in such a way that at the start of the week a player has 90% of his maximum energy storage ready and also in such a way that amount is left at the end to start the new week. In all cases level ups are taken into account although IK buyers don’t level up. Level ups are always counted with all houses active and it is calculated with that a player uses the full potential of the recovery. Working/training and occasional extra PP due to the occasional epic is not calculated with. On average I estimate it levels out although there will be players that will never have an extra epic and thus reach a bit less PP while on the other hand some will often fight in epics giving them loads of extra PP and thus EB’s provided they don’t exceed 40k PP as above that no EB’s are rewarded anymore.
Which Profiles did I use?
The younger/less active player
This player did not yet reach level 300 and that does not buy any packs nor has residency yet has a Q1 house active.
This means this player has the base energy plus the in game available 50 and 100 Energy Centre. Together with the Q1 house the max energy this player can store is 1,400.
The older player, rather active without residence
This player reached level 400 due to which he has an 200 and 300 EC active. He also has packs active due to which he has 200 extra ER per hour and storage of 200 plus the storages of the Blitzkrieg Pack and Maverick Pack. The total energy storage for this player is 8,000.
The player that is highly active with packs and residence
This player also has residency and therefore extra energy recovery and storage. Although the extra ER only works when in his residence city it is counted as if he is and takes optimum benefit from it by jumping back and forth all the time. The total energy storage for this player is 9,160 while his energy recovery increased with 120/hour.
The overview of these profiles is shown below;
During the weekly challenge several rewards are given. The ones most important for this analysis are the extra energy recovery and the gain of EB’s. Most of the active players will roughly know. To be complete however I’ll show you the moments these rewards are given during the Weekly Challenge. In both cases you’ll see the gained PP, the reward in Er or EB and the total reward in ER or EB at that point;
Now I’ll show you an example of an actual table that is used to calculate the effect of EB usage during the first epic. In this case a player from profile 2, having reached level 400+, an extra 200/hr ER from the PP and also having Blitz and Maverick pack.
What do you see in this table?
Under Energy saved you see the energy that was restored in the given hour shown in the first column and the total energy since the last usage. For example; After hour# 2 you’ll see 480 as the amount of energy saved in the 2nd hour. In the 1st hour that was 300. 300 is the amount the player would gain using his statistics at the start of the week; Standard 100 ER/hr plus the 200 from the Power Pack. At the start of the 2nd hour the player used 150 EB’s, meaning 15,000 energy plus the 7,200 he already had at the start of the week. He therefore used 22,200 energy which means 2,200 hits which during the 1st epic rewarded him with 4,400 PP meaning an extra 18 ER and already 12 EB gained.
The moment the energy pool reaches 75% of the maximum energy storage all energy is used and extra PP is gained. Lvl up energy pool is used to store he amount of energy the player used from the start of the week. The moment this exceeds 50k it means the player has a level up which at that moment is used to score the extra PP due to the energy gained by the level up.
The results per EB spend
Having explained that lets jump to the results for the different profiles.
In the graph below you’ll see two lines. The red one shows the growth in Prestige Points gained (right axis) at the end of the weekly challenge depending on the amount of EB’s used in the first hour in an epic battle (Horizontal axis) as well as the total amount of EB’s gained or lost as a result. Amount shown at the left axis and as a number above the blue line.
As you can see a player with this profile that just uses his saved energy and 0 EB’s will be able to gain 12 EB’s during the week. If he uses extra EB’s he will soon have a net loss in EB’s after a week.
A player having packs will score significantly better with a maximum EB gain of 77 when not using EB’s at the start;
Finally you’ll see the player also having residence who is scoring a lot better than the player with no residence and a total of 127 EB’s can be gained.
The difference between residency or not can grow to 60 EB’s which are valued at 1.365 gold a piece as I explained in my previous article. 60EB’s therefore are valued at 81.9Gold, or 36.036cc which is lower than the costs of the Q1-Q5 houses. Those houses roughly cost 37.225 to buy. However as the residence gives you bonus on the duration of the houses the costs are lower as the houses last up to 20% longer. With that extension the costs for a week would be 31.021. Also by having all houses active all the time the player would gain a lot of work tickets. For every house active it would mean 1 time extra work per day. So having all 5 active rather that only Q1 would mean a player being able to work 4 times extra a day. With a payment of 250cc that would mean an extra amount of income of 1,000 cc per day or 7,000 a week. Total cost of the houses therefore is the afore mentioned 31,021cc but you are rewarded with 43,036cc. And above that you gain roughly 20k extra energy you can use to score BH’s.
For a better comparison I integrated the three graphs above into one;
Now I doubt a lot of players will keep exact track of the amount EB’s they spend in the first epic battle. Most will however look at the amount of Prestige Points gained. I therefore also show you the same kind of graphs but related to the amount of PP reached in the first epic. The amount of PP reached is shown at the horizontal axis. The other axis and such are the same. Again for the three different profiles;

Indeed. And central park as well. Leading to 120ER extra/hr. I'm rather sure I did the math with that but notice that profile 3 shown is showing only 2 for Q1. I'll check but am rather sure thats only because of the copy I made for that overview table as it is not the actual one used. Thx for pointing to it!
As I suspected it was a copy/paste issue for the overview table. I hadn't pasted values so a formula was pointing to the wrong cell. No issue with the actual data.
10x man! - i've been to lazy myself to make the math, but i did know in my heart that if as a player you buy all pack and have 8000 ff or more, you my as well hit for PP at week change with all you heart (and storage)

That's a challenge most of the time for me. And I already did leave out several issues I wanted to know myself. For instance the (financial) difference between using the Q5 house or skipping it. And including work/train energy usage to name 2 😉
If I am watching it through the eyes of an average reader, the article is full of data which most of the people won't understand or even bother to read.
It was written for analysts and the game developers, I'd say. Anyway, you deserve the praise for effort.
I take it you refer specificly to tables 2 and 3 I guess? That I can understand as that is focussed indeed on the players wanting to know how its done in more detail while others will not care and only look at the graphs.

How much PP to you like to get in the first EPIC of the week? 5K for me but went 10K this time thinking this was an actual event.
Normally around 5k, but since our TW I used to go for roughly 8.5-10k making me end around 19.5-21k gaining the 15EB/500PP. Last time it was 5k again as a was abroad and had slow connection.

What about the D4 player on his way to level 201? Maybe this is an idea for a future article?
I think there are 2 new scenarios that are especially interesting: with/without packs, with residence and all houses. The without houses, without packs case already was discussed in this article.
The houses are expensive for such a player, but getting to level 201 promises the reward of free training, making it all (hopefully) worthwhile. If there is no bankruptcy on the way to level 201 that is...
So you want to see with packs and then with and without residence with all houses?
Apart from that; Q5 houses are expensive for a lvl 201+ players as well 😉
Houses at this level and this idea only make sense with the recovery bonus, so with residence. I do not have packs, so I'm interested in seeing how much they could help, so I'd like a comparison with and without packs.
Ok. Can be made easily. However I did not include those as they lead to unlikely situations. Especially when using EB's at the start. If you do use EB's your ER leads to not being able to store the recovered energy. If you have no extra storage from packs you will only have the basic 650 storage plus 630 from the houses if you have those. If you leave your PC on when away/asleep and using stuff+ you can store 2.560 with residence or 1.300 without. You start the week with 220 per hour ER so say 11 (5) hours. The moment you get extra ER that drops rapidly making it very theoretical as I take it you will not set an alarm at night so you will be capped in storage/usage and even getting away during daytime will be difficult.
