[UKRP] Madacaion for PP

Day 1,785, 16:26 Published in United Kingdom France by Madacaion

So this is a pretty exciting time at UKRP, after a long time of stagnation, the cogs of this mighty morphing reforming machine are finally starting to move again.

Yeah – just like this guy!
So the aim of this article is twofold,

Firstly to tell all you lovely UKRPers why you should vote for me, what I aim to do during my term and a sneak peek at the changes I – with your help – want to make.

Secondly, it is to show the eRepublik world that we are not dead, not a spent force and we will once again push to the forefront in forward thinking with regards to eUK politics.

You may wonder - why is this guy publishing this so early?

Good question.

Simply - I want your feedback.

I want a conversation - and I feel that in game is the best place to start that off. Feel free to leave a comment/PM me and if something comes up (or its a big issue that needs clarifying) then I'll write a follow up article.

Simples!

So why me?

- Well I’m pretty active – as in online…a lot…

- I actively participate in all areas of the eUK including IRC and the forums!

- I’m a fresh face with lots of ideas. And good people (including all you lovely UKRPers) to help me put those ideas into practice or refine them. Perhaps most importantly to also tell me when those good ideas, arnt.

I even have my own law firm

So this term as PP I would be looking to:

1) Shake up how we run the party.

The UKRP have some cracking law makers, thinkers and generally are great at good ideas. But we are a secretive bunch. I want to bring the UKRP out of the shadows, moving interaction on day to day activities into the public domain. Allowing everyone to see our policies so that new players can actually compare between parties.
As such one of my main policies would be to move as much as is possible/sensible from the private area of the forum into a public one (or at least a public read-only one).

There will always be a need for a private forum (albeit smaller) – I’m not saying we do away with it entirely.

2. Change the way congress/elections are done

Recently the admins managed to throw in a doubled edged sword into the congress election procedure. PP’s now have a lot more control over who goes where – but at the same time mobile, tactical and somewhat interesting voting is gone.

We need to change the way that we think about congress elections.

People need to have both a strong party and a strong individual presentation if they want the votes. As such – only members who have a manifesto will be allowed onto the sheet.

If you’re not willing to put in the effort you don’t deserve to be in congress. That applies to everyone, including the PP and incumbents.

I would also open the UKRP to non-top 5 parties to put congressmen down on our sheet. This would only be open to players who meet the above criteria, share a common goal with the UKRP and, of course, ask.

UKRP Members can see these ideas on our forums: http://tinyurl.com/9ptemzg feel free to post!

A good political party in my eyes is accountable; not only to its members but in a visible and demonstrable way to those outside it.

I’d be happy to take any questions either here, on the forums or on IRC (you’ll find me in #UKRP)

Vote and shout please!
