[UKGov]It's Christmas but the battles don't stop

Day 1,129, 17:03 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office
I'd like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas. Things have noticeably quietened down worldwide over the Christmas period, but there is still plenty going on for me to write about :3

France invade Canada Again

After the Canadian congress refused peace with France, the Western European Phoenix power continued their onslaught on Canada, which had begun with an attempted invasion a few weeks ago. France hit hard at a bad time for Canada with the North Americans loosing MPPs with the USA and Spain mainly due to silly moves in MPPing people who they wanted to attack but also what looks like a lack of interest in the wellbeing of Canada from some of their closest allies. France
started with an attack on Nova Scotia, which after a close fought battle they won 8-7. They followed this up with a crushing victory in New Brunswick, which was followed by an attack on the important for France, as it would mean they get the full 25% production bonus on food as it is a deer region, Prince Edward Island, which was also won convincingly, 8 minibattles to 0.
They then moved on Newfoundland, which was yet another easy victory. They then launched an attack on Nunavut, which is looking like the toughest challenge the invasion has had in days, with France currently winning 5-3 but going into late night in Europe and edging towards Canadian prime time. Providing France win it looks like the invasion will continue over the Christmas period, with a symbolic attack on Quebec, which has been evacuated by Canada, sure to come next, and the way things are going unless EDEN take major steps to assist the North American nation they will be hard pressed to stave off a possible wiping from the map, or at least a heavy defeat.

Argentina march through South America towards Spain

The last week or so has been very busy for Argentina, with the country really focusing on getting as many of the new resources as it can and it looks like it might become the 3rd nation, after China and the USA to collect all 10 resources and obtain the full production bonus in food and weapon industries. One of the ways they have been going about this is through lengthy region swaps with Chile, as well as an invasion of Colombia, home of the only grain in South America apart from Brazil. They began with an attack on Amazonica, which they won fairly easily though it has since been RW'd back. They then got a border with the Spanish held, which was taken to protect Venezuela from an attack from PTOed Colombia, Guayana, which they have since attacked and are currently drawing 5-5, although it is heading towards South American prime time so they will probably have the upper hand for the rest of the battle. It will be interesting to see that if after gaining their high grain and freeing Venezuela from Spain they will attempt a move on mainland Spain or sign peace and not attempt any invasion.

Australia returns to the map through a spate of RWs

Australia has returned to the map after being wiped by Indonesia a few weeks ago with a large number of EDEN and Broalliance backed RWs. They hit every Indonesian held region, but only made a major effort in the Australian ones, the others were just drains. They successfully RW'd back all but one region by a massive 8-0 margin, and they have since started one in Northern Territory, the final region and the resistance are currently leading that 7-2 so it looks likely Australia will be whole again on Christmas Day, although it seems only a matter of time before Indonesia make another invasion attempt on their perennial Oceanian enemies.

The Rest
- Turkey and Greece continue their long running battles in Cyprus, with Greece managing to gain the upper hand by conquering the grain in Northern Cyprus, which means an attack on mainland Turkey will soon follow.
- Hungary and Romania continue their skirmishes with neither side really gaining the upper hand.
- Serbia secure Lika and begin the process of swapping into Central Europe through Slovenia, possibly to attack Italy, which holds some resources needed by the Phoenix superpower
- France and Spain continue their fighting, but it has reached a stalemate.
- The USA have nearly completed their objective of conquering Mexico.
- Estonia lose their two Finnish regions.

That's it for today, have a great Christmas 🙂
