[SFP] Interview with the Outgoing Party President:

Day 3,747, 19:05 Published in USA USA by Jimmy Cincinnati

Interview with Leon Gutierrez

~Jimmy~
How long have you been playing eRep?

~Leon~
I've been on-and-off so i can't say my exactly "total time" playing eRep. Since my hiatus, I came back in October. Now due to RL , I am stepping away from the game and scene. So from October to February, would be 5 months.

~Jimmy~
From what Country are you, in real life?

~Leon~
USA

~Jimmy~
You said that you were leaving the game for r.l. reasons.
Any plans on returning and when should we expect you?

~Leon~
I can't say really when "I'll return". I do plan to slowly go into 3-click mode, as there is some work I'd like to help with Bear Cavalry on, and from there who knows. I really can't say as of yet. 🙁, but I'll be on Discord!

~Jimmy~
What are your thoughts on the eUS forum?

~Leon~
I'm displeased that the majority of information relating to, dealing with, eUSA is only conducted through there. But it seems the forum is segregated into two layers. You have the "public information" which you can see through their public proceedings that they release, but the content that deals with pressing issues that affect eUS citizens are done behind closed doors, in their private congress side. This type of information you'll never be able to realize until it's already happening or a congressman. The current focus of keeping all information that affects eUSA like this makes it so the people are left in the dark and this seems entirely intentional. There was a time, where the WHPR or w/e that newspaper was called, would actively write about what it is the government is doing or planning on doing, but now it barely even offers that.

~Jimmy~
Were you notified of the SoH competency hearing? Any thoughts on the resignation of the Speaker?

~Leon~
Yeah Honestly, I think what is done is done with regards to the resignation and it was direct a result from the ganging up by certain individuals whom didn't want you there. I mean if one reads the public proceeding from the forums on the matter of why the SoH should of been removed, it seemed to be more of a punishment discussion over the new election of someone they entirely disagreed with from the start. It was to the very exact detail, that because these mistakes were made, this person ought to be removed. What in the first week or two of being elected in? I also find it ironic that the same people who are criticizing the SoH and calling for his impeachment, were calling for unity and defending Pfeiffer over a war which costed us millions and lost us regions. This war come after months of congressional arguments over raising reserves to defend against a possible threat of ASTERIA. Then in private, Congress called for a costly Airstrike which failed when executed. During that time of the war, opposition called for Impeachment, and Pfeiffer was slammed for it publically and what was the response then? "Let's discuss this later guys, now is not the time, unity is important to win!". This was a war that could of costed us a lot more had we not had our allies Airstrike the regions needed to stop Croatia. It was a costly mistake from the get-go. Yet here we find, same guy got elected again. But then heres an SFP member who gets elected as SoH, makes mistakes and gets slammed from it with a Vote of No confidence to remove him, and it is coming from the same people who supported the Airstrike issue, and some of which called for unity when people were in an uproar over it. What? It presents itself as a double standard.

~Jimmy~
#5. What are the names of 3 other games you enjoy?

~Leon~
Freeman Guerilla Warfare, Hearts of Iron IV, and Holdfast Nations at War.

~Jimmy~
#7. Who is the most interesting person in the eUS?

~Leon~
Haha, uh-oh! Uh, well I can't say , I don't really have someone I can point to as "the most"

~Jimmy~
#8. If anything, what have you gained from this experience?

~Leon~
Yeah, nothing really seems as easy as it seems. Even in a game like this where you simply click things. I'm talking about leading a party or trying to make an impact somewhere. Takes a lot of commitment, and time, so always be ready to put that level of committ to make the long lasting impact you wish to make!

~Jimmy~
On which projects would you most like to see our new party president working?

~Leon~
Two things that I extremely wish to see to fruition, is the SFP General Assembly. Honestly we have always had to tackle the issue of growing new cadres of SFP members, raising new leadership, and getting the active members of party involved in shaping the party as time goes on. I think RF William's proposal will be a step in the right direction - hopefully the nail in the coffin. A lot of good SFP Comrades have put good work into it, MaryamQ has offered her suggestions and Maxwell Hanz has already drafted a rough draft of what it would look like if amended into our Constitution, laying out the idea with simplicity. Now it just needs people to get involved in that new organ of the party. For anyone whose in SFP and wants to know what it is the SFP General Assembly is: http://sfp-erep.forumotion.com/t1332-discussion-constitutional-amendments.
Lastly the SFP Art Collective, honestly this serves to help grow and develop the theoretical perspectives of the SFP. The party has had a rich history of these type of works, from various members such as Frederick Engels in the past and Phoenix Quinn to name a few. But this Art collective also ties in works from other comrades around the eWorld such as Gustavo from the ERA whose an active writer in his nation respectively. It is time that a framework exists so the artistic elements of our party can provide a good insight for people in our community, and provide a leftist perspective to cultural issues that we can see in the eWorld (such as the anti-American & nationalistic outburst that happened during the USA - Croat War). ~Jimmy~
Is there anything you'd like to say, before we part?

~Leon~
Certainly, it's been fun playing this game for the time being, and it was most fun getting involved with the party and MU i've always loved, SFP and Bear Cavalry! It was an honour putting in what I could for the party, and I hope new faces come to prominence and help it grow. As for the people I've met through my time here, it's been swell getting to know you all , regardless of our political differences , the activity at the end of the day is what makes this game great, so long as there is activity then this game can always be enjoyed in some way. I'll be poking around when I can!

~Jimmy~
Well, I guess this is, "Goodbye."
