[Pacifica] A New (Old) Face and The Way Forward
Pacifica HQ
With the resignation of Pacifica’s Secretary General, the election of a new alliance leader was initiated this month. Ultimately, I was elected. By means of introduction, I am a former two-time CP of the eUS and have spent lots of time in the Defense and Foreign Affairs departments here in the eUS. I was CP when Latvia was added to Pacifica and look forward to continuing to work with the alliance I was around for the birth of.
With new leadership comes new focus. It’s no secret on the international stage that Pacifica has floundered a bit of late. I am going to do my best to work to change that. As questions were posed to the candidates for SG over the past few weeks, one of the sentiments that was expressed is a desire for Pacifica to feel like a family. A desire to know that we have each other’s backs, that we’ll support each other in battle, and that we can rely on that support.
This level of support has been lacking over the years. My own country is no less to blame than others. Does that mean it's time to dissolve and go our separate ways? Not in my opinion, no. We can do better, together. How do we do it?
First, as we approach the new month, I’ll be talking with each July CP and taking a hard look at the current state of the alliance. What do people see as our strengths, our issues, areas for improvement. All of our members should feel important and wanted. That starts with listening to them.
To follow up that initial talk, I’m going to start working toward regular check-ins on the status of each nation in Pacifica. Something like a “weekly report” that includes current wars, priority concerns, etc. Checking a nation page is only a part of the full picture. Country leadership knows better than anyone where their focus is.
Using the information from these check-ins, Pacifica will move toward the kind of joint strikes that individual countries accomplish. Together, we’ll pick a target battle and focus the entirety of Pacifica’s strength in a multi-part joint-strike throughout the day with times that suit a variety of our member time zones. Working cohesively on a regular basis will help to build this sense of unity that we desire.
Along with cohesive military action, we need to be on the same page about our foreign relations. If our own individual MPPs prevent us from being committed to an ally in Pacifica, that needs to be addressed before it breeds division among our friends.
We could point fingers or throw blame for the state of our alliance, but what’s the point? Let’s take this opportunity to refresh and move forward, not backward. Pacifica is one of the oldest alliances still active in the game. Let’s act like it.
Hail Pacifica!

First for Tom Hanksimals in Pacifica!
I will vote this comment.
Congratulations, dmj! With more effective leadership, Pacifica can be renewed and retake the world.
Hail Pacifica!

POLAND is still in Pacifica ???
USA is erased and they fight in the big war with Belarus 😃
Poland is Asteria. As long as they don't want to accept that, Pacifica is not an alliance but just an Asterian puppet.
And you are telling this to a romanian resident of usa 😃

Communication could always be better. For example I doubt average eFinn knows much about current status and events in Pacifica level. Obviously it is also up to national leaders to inform they countrymen but it could help if some general Pacifica level news were published and distributed to reach as many players as possible.
(Is such thing done already? In case I have just missed it.)
No. American citizen are no better informed than the Finns...
I try to do my part and wrote a little piece to eFinland newspaper: https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-valtio-pacifica-on-saanut-uuden-johtajan-2674840/1/20
(In Finnish)
I'm going to try and make this paper more active. It may be a good opportunity to get a member on my team to handle alliance media. I agree that being more vocal on our media with our members is a really great thing, so I want to push that.
Good Luck with this new assignment...
Good luck DMJ!
"one of the sentiments that was expressed is a desire for Pacifica to feel like a family. A desire to know that we have each other’s backs, that we’ll support each other in battle, and that we can rely on that support."
Just love that you brought this part in the article!
Hail Pacifica! o7
This is probably the most useless alliance ever created in erep 🙂
Swedish Propaganda
Why?

Not hard to tell where Poland's focus is: holiday as long as you are deleted. But if you'll be active they'll tell you not to provoke BG-MKD-Lith or you'll be kicked out. After all that was what you did to others too. Good luck to feeling like a family.
True family. 😃
I know you are capable of more nuanced and competitive analysis than this, my friend.
good to see you again Julius 😉
Maybe but my analysis could never compete with yours. Will you write?
I believe my knowledge is a bit too outdated for succinct writing about the matter at hand. Maybe later 😉
They never knew the meaning of these things. "Together" and "feeling like a family"
You are the PETcifica of ASSteria
Impeach!
