[MoD] Just a problem about respect [ENG-ITA]

Since I was young, even before discovering this game, I had always been taught a thing: respect is all in interpersonal relationships, it’s on it that the strongest bonds are based, and that is what has never to lack when everything else does.
I've always been clear about this idea, even when started playing erepublik, and I'm still thinking that it is the hub on which our society should be based, both inside and outside the game.
But I'm not here to do a lesson of international relations or good manners, today (after over 400 days) I write because this value has failed in the most shabby way.


After the end of Syndacate, Italy was alone in the middle of Europe, surrounded by old and strong enemies. I will not be hypocritical: Italy understood, as community, that the best thing to do was to approach Asteria and Pacifica because of convenience, and at the same time to have more fun from this game.
As MoFA and deputy CP, I started this month following the will of almost all the community, approaching my old enemies and trying to bring the country closer to these alliances. Some countries have been hesitant, others have kindly rejected us as possible allies, but always with the respect deserved by a country like ours and by a person who spends time at the expense of other things that he might actually do outside the game.
Even the Polish CP was very kind and friendly, and immediately replied that the MPP with them depended on Slovenia because of their friendship.



Thus, because of the reply, I hurry to ask Bruce the permission to have a MPP with their close ally.



As you can understand, the answer is not very cute and friendly, although I and my government decide to wait for Monday morning, that is, the the day after Asteria's “meeting”. This is the answer of Colonel:



That’s fine we think, Serbia has decided so and Slovenia will have rightly decided to attack us for a real war (despite the 3 currently active). But I’ve the feeling that there is something below, so speaking to Vlad, the SG of Asteria, a very kind and helpful person, jumps out that he hasn't aware of the meeting. Which means that it didn't take place.

So, Bruce did not have a meeting with Asteria on Sunday but he decided on his own to be the bearer of Asteria's voice even though in reality the alliance did not support it on paper. But it's not over; out of any logic Colonel, believing now to be the supreme and undisputed leader of Asteria, finds the pretext to attack us, just because we tried to have MPP (and then make friends) with the other countries of Asteria, which is a contradiction if you well think about it.



Therefore, I find myself with my team in the face of a choice: denying all that has been done so far, and all the relationships we were building with the new Asteria-Pacifica’s countries in the name of the salvation of our native regions or fighting to the end. I decided, very reluctantly, for the first one:





This, as you can see, is Bruce's response, in which he declares indirectly that he has made fun of us, which also concludes our story. Casually this situation started exactly the day after Ikki left the game...
Now, these days I have been able to talk to many fantastic people on the side of those who were once sworn enemies, and I do not think Bruce has them in the hand as he tried to make us believe with this action.
You are allies of Bruce, I know, but I personally ask you not to give such a strong feeling because you should not allow anyone to speak for Asteria or even to behave in that way with a country that has only tried to be friend with you in last days.
So, if there really is an alliance (and we all know that it does), I ask you to do something and to stop this bullshit towards Italy. Because respect must never fail, neither among friends but even mostly among enemies.

Fin da piccolo, quando ancora non avevo idea di cosa fosse questo gioco, mi è sempre stata insegnata una cosa: il rispetto è tutto nei rapporti interpersonali, è su di esso che si basano i legami più forti, ed è quello che non deve mai venire a mancare anche quando gli stessi vacillano.
Ho sempre avuta chiara questa idea, anche quando mi sono appassionato ad erepublik, e continuo tutt'ora a pensare che sia il cardine su cui si basa la nostra società, dentro e fuori dal gioco.
Ma non sono qui per fare una lezione di rapporti internazionali o di buone maniere, oggi (dopo oltre 400 giorni) scrivo perché questo valore è venuto a mancare, nel modo più squallido possibile.




Il fatto è che, dopo la fine di Syndacate, l'Italia si è trovata sola nel mezzo dell'Europa, circondata da vecchi nemici. Non farò l'ipocrita; l'Italia intesa come community ha deciso che la cosa migliore fosse avvicinarsi ad Asteria e Pacifica perché era conveniente, ed allo stesso tempo per avere più divertimento da questo gioco. Così come ministro degli esteri e vice CP ho cominciato il mandato seguendo il volere della community, avvicinandomi ai miei vecchi nemici e cercando di avvicinare il paese alle loro alleanze. Alcuni sono stati titubanti, altri ci hanno gentilmente respinto come possibili alleati, ma sempre con il rispetto che si deve ad uno stato come il nostro in primis ed a una persona che spende del tempo a discapito di altre cose che potrebbe fare in real, poi. Anche il CP polacco è stato molto sincero e cordiale, rispondendomi subito che l'MPP con loro dipendeva dalla Slovenia, essendo molto amici.



Pertanto, in seguito alla risposta mi affretto a chiedere a Bruce il suo consenso per poter avere un MPP con il loro alleato:



Come potrete capire anche voi la risposta non è molto carina ed amichevole, ciò nonostante io ed il mio governo decidiamo di aspettare lunedì mattina, ovvero la fine del “meeting” di Asteria.

Ma va bene ci diciamo, la Serbia ha deciso così e la Slovenia avrà giustamente deciso di attaccarci per una guerra vera, nonostante le 3 che ha attualmente attive. Però a me viene il dubbio che ci sia qualcosa sotto, così parlando con Vlad, il SG di Asteria, persona molto gentile e disponibile a mio parere, salta fuori che non era a conoscenza del meeting, ergo non c'è stato.

Quindi Bruce non ha avuto un meeting con Asteria, ha deciso per conto suo facendosi portatore della voce di Asteria anche se in realtà l'alleanza non lo ha supportato sulla carta. Ma non è finita qui, fuori da ogni logica
il colonnello, credendo ormai di essere il capo supremo ed indiscusso di Asteria trova il pretesto di attaccarci perché abbiamo cercato di avere MPP (e quindi stringere rapporti di amicizia) con gli altri paesi di Asteria, il che è un controsenso se ci pensate.



Pertanto mi trovo con la mia squadra davanti ad una scelta: rinnegare tutto quello fatto finora e tutti i rapporti ce stavamo costruendo con i nuovi paesi Asteria-Pacifica in nome della salvezza delle regioni o combattere fino alla fine. Decido, molto a malincuore, per la prima:





Questa come potete vedere è la risposta di Bruce, in cui afferma indirettamente di averci preso per il sedere con il discorso del meeting, che conclude anche la nostra storia.
Ora, io questi giorni ho avuto modo di parlare con molte persone fantastiche dal lato dei quelli che un tempo erano nemici giurati, e non penso che Bruce li abbia in mano come ha cercato di farmi credere con questa azione. Casualmente questa situazione è nata esattamente il giorno dopo l’articolo di addio di Ikki...
Ora mi rivolgo a voi: siete alleati, lo so, però vi chiedo personalmente di non dare man forte ad un comportamento del genere perché non dovete permettere a nessuno di parlare per Asteria né, tantomeno, di comportarsi in questo modo con uno stato che ha cercato solo di esservi amico negli ultimi giorni. Perciò, se veramente c'è un'alleanza, che si faccia sentire e fermi questa ridicola presa di posizione. Perché il rispetto non deve mai mancare, né tra amici ma né soprattutto tra avversari.
