[JK] A Man, His Plan and The Team

Song feature😛 What makes a good man - The Heavy

This is the follow up article I promised in my announcement article, and it’s in this one that i’ll discuss who will be working where in my cabinet and the plans/goals I have for the party.

The plans

I’m sure some people will say that these idea’s aren’t groundbreaking, that they aren’t all new, and that i’m just copying …. stfu and crawl in a corner :3 … Anyways -

1) - I’m bringing back radio to the party! This isn’t a new and original idea of course … AMP has had a radio show before, and I know the Feds still use theirs to the present day. However, the radio show died when myself and Sarah stopped (although Sarah still does hers from time to time, but that’s a private show, not party affiliated), and it’s my intention to revive it with a new/reformed format. I want to treat it as a fireside chat of sorts, while using song requests and featuring not only party members to just chat with, but people outside the party who may want to talk and give an outside perspective to broaden our horizons. Oh, and naturally there will be competitions!

2) - A weekly newsletter sent to every member of the party! This will go hand in hand with any Party Presidential Addresses I do (I promise (hold me to this) to do at LEAST 4 in my term, though i’d like to do more), where I will personally message each and every member of the party to give them the low down on what is happening within the party and what they might be interested in hearing and participating in. I’ve been toying with this idea for months and in all honesty, it still needs refining, but that’s why I have a cabinet and advisors to help me 😃

3) - I will restart game nights! God how i’ve missed these. It’s not an easy draw since a lot of people aren’t overly attracted to IRC-Based game nights, but they’re only part of the parcel. For the first time in possibly a long time in the party, we’ll also be using games outside of IRC and websites to play game nights on. Like the newsletter, again it needs refining, but this is one of the ideas i’m really excited about.

4) - I’m sure this will disappoint some, but I will NOT be continuing the practise of Public PDB’s for the party. Despite what John Largo has said on the subject, they have not been a success (Unless we just have different criteria for success). Since the experiment started, I can count on one hand the number of new people who have been commenting in them, and even then I can also pick out the number of people who commented once just to say “I like this” and never heard anything from them again. This is also not forgetting the impact it had on other people who I know have refused to participate in the PDB’s because their opinion is sometimes unpopular and they don’t wish for it to be public until the PDB’s are later declassified for the party public in the AMP Presidential Libraries a couple of months down the line.

I feel the PDB’s aren’t something people automatically deserve access to. In these times, ANYONE who is willing to put the effort in to help the party usually earns access to the PDB, so those who feel they miss out have an incentive to help the party to help themselves.

Those are just the cornerstones of my plans. There are of course other plans, but they’re minor and I would like to reveal them during the course of my presidency.

The Staff

The first thing I did when I started campaigning was to say to the current leadership “Pick 2 departments you’d like to work in”. This confused some as they thought they were going to be running 2 departments simultaneously … Nope.

I told them that because I wanted to give them the oppportunity to work in a new department, to broaden their resumes and earn new experiences that could help them later on down their political paths. Maybe they’d find a new enjoyment for a different aspect of the game? They’d never know without the chance, and that’s what I wanted to give them. This doesn’t mean new people can’t apply for jobs, since I would love each department to try and take on a deputy with the EXPRESS INTENT to not use them as a lackey for the jobs they don’t really want to do, but to train them in THEIR role, so that they could be considered in the future. You can’t build the future by treating them like slaves.

Without further ado, my cabinet! -

Chief of Staff - David Wilson
Anyone who’s spoken to me for an extended amount of time knows how cool this guy is in my books, especially when I consider him pretty much the best PP the party has ever had. It’s for that reason I know he’ll be great in this position since I’ve seen first hand how he is capable of smacking people to do work! 😃

PAC Director - Mr Swagg
A stalwart of this position, Swagg has been PAC as many time as i’ve been in charge of the party in one way or another, and he’s proven himself beyond a doubt as a competent PAC Director. He’ll be leading our next charge on Congress and will try and push our envelope.

Recruitment Director - Piggy Boot
Piggy Boot sort of disappeared off my radar after he vanished after Israel’s terms where he was first introduced to us, and this saddened me because he was such a hard worker and genuinely seemed enthused to be with us and helping the party. THEN HE RETURNED, with the same ethics and i’ve been nothing short of pleased with his work, and my cabinet wouldn’t be complete without him.

Retention Director - Greeling
I’ll keep this simple - WE ALL NEED MOAR GREELING!

Media Director - Code-Y
This department always requires someone who WANTS to write, and to have anyone other than that type of person is a disservice to the post. Code-Y has shown that he loves to write … even offering to write stuff for other people to publish!

Communications Director - Dave Gulya
Dave has the unenviable task for constantly messaging the party several times month, keeping them up to date with all the information he thinks the party needs to know. Yet, he does this without a shred of complaint, he simply gets on with it, and asks for no thank yous in return!

Education Director - Emdoublegee
Not a technical eRepublik Oldie, but enough of an oldie in AMP, he fills this spot perfectly with his knowledge of the games technical side, party history and not to mention his love of building the community and helping new people. It would be a criminal offence for him to not fill a post where he can do so much good!

So what next?

Those are the plans and the people I want to help me execute them, now all that’s left is for me to ask for your vote in our primary. If you believe in this, me and my team, then please go to the topic, and place a vote for me.

At the end of the day, I just really want to help this party grow, that is all i’ve ever wanted. Whenever I run, it’s never about power or control, it’s always been about trying to steer the party in a new and/or better direction!

Until next time ...

The man of Integri … who am I kidding, i’m just a joker really
