Dear Citizens,
Previous government ended their government period with a Country Name referendum. Results of referendum are that we will keep the current name The United Netherlands because the criteria for a constitutional change were not met (66% in favour in order to succeed). A total of 61 eUNL citizens took part in this referendum. 62% favoured name change into “The Netherlands” while 38% favoured to keep it “The United Netherlands”. Currently a name change procedure is started by a member of congress to change country name into The Netherlands, first voting round in congress has been accepted. During next congressional period another voting round must take place in order to accept a name change. This last point about congress starting procedure to change country name during constitutional change is purely informative because the current government is not involved in this action by congress, but we are closely watching and following it.

Further we would like to give you some information on the things Cabinet Rienveld 1 is working on or is going to work on the rest of this period.

Ministry of Interior & Information
Interior & Information is looking at existing laws which might needs to be updated to fight unnecessary bureaucracy. We will also give comments about this concerning law proposals currently or will be debated in congress, to prevent unnecessary bureaucracy. Together with MoD we decided that the “army elites law” needed an update, and proposed a new law in congress, which is accepted by this time. Also the MoII is monitoring the changes made by our dear erepublik admins, topics about this are created in the I&I forum part. The SS of Interior & Information will also publish once a week an educational article.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Many things have already been archieved, the ambassador system has been reformed. This means that instead of dozens of inactive ambassadors to random unimportant countries, we now have a small professional team of 5-6 players., I have reconstructed and cleaned the Foreign Affairs forums and have established contacts with our alliance (PHOENI😵 and with other countries (e.g Belgium, Germany). Other things on the program are; more transperency (we have appointed an Information Officer to give the general public information about Foreign Affairs) and promoting immigration in Forreign countries.

Ministry of Defense
General Heikanu and SS of MoD markov will take care of the daily army business. This means making sure everything goes well, and that enough weapons, moving tickets, etc are in stock and are available. Also MoD is looking into options to fix our site to erepublik V2 and MoD will be working on it to develop a medal system. The most important this period is to get an active elite unit again together with a decent regular army. Minister of Economy and State Companys
The plans for the economics and state companies ministry are:
- Turn all the foreign currencies in the state companies over to gold.
- Create one or two food companies focussing on either all health or all happiness.

Ministry of Finance
The monetary market has currently reached a stable period. Current exchange rates are fluctuating around 1 GOLD = 90 NLG and 1 NLG = 0.013 GOLD. This offers both opportunities for speculators on the monetary market, and stability for company owners and the economy. The Ministry of Finance will aim to keep the exchange rates stable.

The last balances report can be found in the MoF newspaper. No extraordinary donations are made up to now. I will publish a new article with the balances every week, and an explanation of 'strange' donations. Please subscribe to stay updated.

Foreign currencies are being donated from state accounts to “Ministerie van Economische Zak” by Congress members. If you are a Congress member, please vote yes on these proposals. If no proposal is running, please raise such a proposal with any (significant) amount of foreign currency to be donated to “Ministerie van Economische Zak”.

So far, it pretty quiet (which is good on finances, in my opinion). I will inform you immediately if any noteworthy event arises.
