Hello eRepublik.

You may not remember me. I'm Kyle321n. I've been hanging around the RL part of the forum and enjoying not giving a crap about this game. It's been so long since I logged into the game that they turned the "ambient" back on. I never liked when they added that. This article is going to sound like Andy Rooney's minute on 60 Minutes. In fact I'm watching one right now.

I've seen a lot of crap in the last 3 years, and I've missed even more during my breaks from the game. I've been elected to congress; been president of multiple parties in multiple countries; started, led, built, designed and done a various amount of activities in military units; been a key component of 3 different countries leaderships; survived an invasion of my home state when I was the only one fighting for it; rescued another state from the evil Irish bastards; been the highest scoring fighter in countless battles; developed battle strategy; ran a semi-successful podcast and newspaper; and have been a part of numerous failed business ventures. I've been loved, hated, reviled, worshiped, thought of as an egomaniac, and called an asshole too many times to be counted. I was nearly president. I was the face of a "revolution" against a 3 term president, while not-so-secretly behind the scene I was helping the president in some of his most successful ventures. I've had friend and enemies, fights with members of the community, and relationships with others that I wouldn't trade for the world. I've seen good people burn out and bad people elected president. I've watched trolls infest countries, people who only get joy out of insulting others drive good people to leave the country they helped build or even the game they had really enjoyed. I've gotten so much headless chickens that if I sent 5 cents to Nigeria for every one I would have single handedly ended world hunger. I've derived so much joy and so much anger from playing this game. It's really been a wonderful 3 years.

I'd like to thank the creators of this game, which is something you'll seldom hear from this newspaper. (I was the first person to write an article in V1 about how EVERYBODY had lost EVERYTHING).

I'd like to thank Franco (Harrison Richardson), Killing Time and PigInZen for running the 3 forums the eUS has had in my time playing the game. I'd also like to say, wtf to Franco and KT for tearing down and scrapping everything in their forums, if you guys hadn't done that we'd have some massive logs of historical debates.

I'd like to thank Leroy Combs for taking me under his wing 3 years ago when I joined the National Guard. He was the first person to contact me when I joined, he was my first CO and he gave me my first military job. Without that I would have probably quit after 2 clicking for 3 months and called it a day.

I'd like to thank everyone I've ever had the pleasure conversing with and playing games with and just shooting the shit with in IRC. It's a wonderful little community that's so addicting.

There are way too many of you out there that I'd like to thank for making this game enjoyable. I won't even try to make a list because I'll leave someone out, feel terrible, delete this article and cry myself to sleep.

I will be coming back to the game for some fun after this weekend is over, so I expect to have 1000 votes and 20000 comments on this article all of them saying something to the extent of "Oh man I remember when XXX happened, and blahblah said that thing. It was hilarious"

3 years is a long time. And the adventure is only beginning for some of you. Enjoy eRepublik for what it is. A game that makes you age like a son of a bitch.
