U.S.A. vs U.K. (not really)

I’m planning something interesting for the next summer. I’m going trek out to a highly remote place and sever any kind of connection with people and civilization.
I’m gonna dig personal hole about 5 to 6 feet deep and a width in which I can barely fit.
My plan is to dwell in this hole for about one week. I will have no chance to talk to anybody and will only see the sky throughout this time.
There is no rule for eating or drinking but using the facilities will be a problem so I won’t be ingesting anything. I will take some fruit juice with me as a preventative measure against dehydration. .
At this point in this story (and that is all it is) you might be thinking to your self :“Why would he do such a ludicrous and quite possibly dangerous act?”
Simple.
Recently I’ve read about Middle Eastern Dervishes and their practices. This is one of their profound practices named "entering a Gaia well".The claim is that this is a truly life changing experience.
The infant is driven to states of mind adults can never reach without such isolation. It’s not something like Buddhist meditation. You do not have to force yourself into an unnatural concentration. You just dwell in your own hole and it just comes upon you..
According to the text I’ve read, the one who will get out of the hole after one week will not be the one who entered it.
The text also notes that you must be the one to dig your own hole. Sounds very odd but also interestingly enlightening at the same time. I think I will give it a try.
What are your thoughts on this matter?
