Bay Jee also serves as a 2nd Commander in the Flying Kittens

The Interview

Hi Huey,

Not a problem, but whilst not as old as some, I really am boring.*

(*Interviewer note I don't agree that he is boring!)

First Question:

Tell us a bit about yourself. What's your Erepublik journey been like, and what motivates you to continue playing? What aspects of the game do you find most enjoyable and captivating?

As you can see from my E-Rep birthday, I joined quite early on and unfortunately (apart from the fighting) E-Rep reflects the daily life so well, work, exercise, others run the country, and I fight. I took a month off sometime ago due to RL, but I don't think anyone noticed . I just “play” the game as part of my daily routine and it helps keep me away from the worst of the internet and it's soul and time sucking diversions.

Second Question:

Can you share a piece of advice or an experience where a government scheme or program significantly contributed to your military development and success in Erepublik?

I didn't make full use of the assistance to buy / upgrade training grounds, but I should have done.

It took me far too long to realise that the training offer of using Gold to upgrade your daily training was actually the best thing to do. I can't remember when I worked this out, but the investment is repaid each month and certainly makes fighting easier! It was only after investing as much gold as I could each 30 days and the four training facilities that I literally grew! Unfortunately once you get past level 200 then the training is free, but something that should be done each day!

Third Question:

What's the most unforgettable campaign or battle you've participated in during your time in Erepublik?

I didn't understand the political side of the game too much, as I (still) don't know why what happens in real life happens, but people try and repeat it in the virtual world as well. Anywho, I got caught up in the fervour of the UKSF Dictator run and the shenanigans surrounding that. All very exciting for a short period and then (he) went away. An exciting period for battles and I don't think the Cat's (PCP) have really recovered.

Fourth Question:

What are your current objectives and ambitions in Erepublik? Are there any specific goals or milestones you're striving to achieve, and how could the government or community help?

As luck would happen I have just rolled over the experience level 500 during this latest Halloween chaos period. I am trying to chase down the player above me in the national rankings, but there is quite a gap and so it's not really going to happen, unless they move to another e-country.

Fifth Question:

Are there any fellow players or accounts within the Erepublik community whom you admire or respect for their achievements or contributions? What qualities or actions do you find commendable in them?

There are the big accounts who have been around for a long time and I sometimes think that I could have been up there, but I don't really get the whole politics / building factories element, so just like real life I fight and work and vote for the next big cheese.

I do have respect for Keithunder, I don't know what went on, but he seemed to go through a very difficult period of “insensitivity” but that has died down and now he seems to just get on with it. As previously mentioned, I just sit in the “Cats” for the politics and the chance of the odd smattering of gold if elected, I fly for the Kittens and we don't appear to be doing too badly as a group.

Closing Question:

Finally, do you have any words of wisdom or motivation for aspiring fighters and pilots in Erepublik, something that could inspire them to achieve success?

Be like Trigger and look after your broom! On a more serious note, join a political party for the support and updates on what is going on, join a military unit for the support, invest in the training grounds support.

I haven't spent actual currency on the game, it shows and I just bumble along doing my own thing with my own standards, probably very much like trigger.

My deepest thanks to Bay Jee for being part of this series, his time and provided answers and my respect and appreciation for what he has achieved in the Skies and Frontlines of eUK.

This is the 2nd interview of the series and there is more to come from this series so please keep an eye out for future articles. Thank you for taking the time to read this interview.
