Return to eCanada

Day 3,809, 19:47 Published in Canada Canada by NerfMinions

Hello! I figured I would write this article because it's probably the best way to get some people onto my friends list and get that quest for 100 friends. However, I'm not shameless enough to just go and ask for some friend requests, so I've decided to attach a small commentary here that you can read at your own liberty. You can then decide whether you'd like to get to know me better or not.

Enter 2014. A cringy, awkward teen decides to join into eCanada. The basics of the game : learnt, battles : fought, politics : involved. Then roughly a year and a half in, when some things at school and other games were beginning to take up a larger chunk of my time, combined with the fact that Canada had recently gotten perma-wiped again, was enough to convince this player to quit.

3 years have passed since I last opened this game. And boy, has it changed. I'd like to first congratulate the current leadership of eCanada for doing such a fine job. It's great that we have two massive nations protecting us up in the North (Romania and Serbia), for the small price of our country looking slightly smaller on the World Map. This is an excellent deterrent against another "perma-wipe" by the United States, our traditional enemy and currently under what I perceive to be a rather impulsive government.

Secondly, there seem to be a lot less of us. Gone are the days where the newspapers were filled with lively dialog and trash-talking - well, that's not entirely true. There's definitely less of it though, for sure. Numbers have dropped, and things have changed. We need to ensure that we have easily visible programs to help beginners, and that people who may have not played this game before are not completely lost by some of the (rather complicated!) new mechanics.

Finally, we've definitely improved the general state of our country. Our new resource cores which I noticed in moving to Alberta are incredibly beneficial - far better than the ones we had before. Training wars against allied nations like the Netherlands are a great chance for people to go for some Battle Hero medals and dish out some damage for fun, especially when war is always so "high-stakes" and expensive in eRepublik. And finally, our government seems to be quite transparent, with regular updates on whatever they're doing in those secret rooms of theirs.

On that note, regardless of whether you read the above or not, please send me a friend request because I have no friends, and if anybody has any tips / guidance on what the heck I need to be doing to get back to actually doing damage and stuff I would appreciate it because I am completely lost right now.
