Join the new world

The 13th century Icelandic poet, Snorri Sturluson, tells us in the Prose Edda that, after Ragnarök, a fertile new world will arise from the waters. Two human survivors begin to repopulate the world and the surviving gods meet and tell stories.

Coming back to the eUSA, I feel as though I have passed through a cataclysm such as Ragnarök but that here I have begun afresh. Here I am launching a new newspaper and a new military unit. I am also back among friends and people who will work together against a common enemy.

Nothing I can say here is new to experienced players and my old friends. To those people, I seek your indulgence while I talk to newer players. It is a role I have performed for several years, right back to my first days with the Federalists in 2009.

To my new friends, you may wonder why we had a unity candidate for the Country President elections and why the other party candidates dropped out.

It is simply because we face a combined internal and external threat. Rogue elements in the American community united with external enemies and are trying to take over our country. We do our best to prevent that. Our country’s enemies are using the party named the American Freedom Alliance in their takeover attempt.

The AFA and the minor parties who support them are our enemies. All other American parties are our friends and we work with each other. In America we work together against external threats. In some other countries, the ruling groups use external threats as an excuse to eliminate domestic opposition. That does not happen here.

While the threat continues, we will all work to find the most transparent and democratic way to express our collective opinion and nominate candidates. What we have at present is not ideal and it can be improved. What matters is that we do seek ways to improve the process.

We appear to have defeated the AFA challenge in this election. However, the threat remains and we must be vigilant. Be active in your parties and keep track of the government media.

Another thing I have to offer to new players is my new military unit. I founded another unit here two years ago and it is thriving. My greetings to the Green Jackets! Keep hitting, friends!

My new unit is called the Sherwood Foresters, in honour of the local regiment in my home county of Derbyshire in my RL country of origin.
