Proud/Horny Interview with Tyler Bubblar

Day 4,692, 15:46 Published in USA Chile by Wilker Nath

You know him! You love him! The person who used his absolute finesse in the position of CP to revitalize our media, unfuck our military situation, laid the groundwork for an era of good feelings that we’re still seeing the benefits of, and took the first steps towards one of the most significant foreign policy shifts this country has taken. He served multiple terms as CP just this year, has some wonderful stories from CP terms in previous years, was a hero of the Ajay ATO era, the list of his achievements goes on. I’d like to welcome onto the show one of the most amazing citizens of the eUS! But first, some music:

Tyler, thank you for coming on. First I have to ask: Under president Krapis, we’ve seen increasing good relations with Asteria countries, including military coordination against Brazil. What are your thoughts on it all? Would you say the FA shift is going well?

Before I answer this question I just want to say while I was active in ATO during the Ajay insurgency. I was one of many and served more as the mop up guy. Melissa Rose and Josh Frost broke the insurgency. It was my job in the following months to ensure Ajay couldn't get back up and send people to Congress.

With that said. Change is bittersweet. I advocated we align with Asteria as I feel a neutral/Pro Asteria stance served the eUSA well for 4 years. However, this time around I believe we need to fully commit to being a part of the Asteria bloc. So while yes I'm happy we're moving in that direction. I also regret that we must leave our South American friends behind. It does not always seem to be in the moment, but change is constant in eRepublik. I'm excited to see the eUSA evolving.

You’ve done quite a bit in this game, so I think I’ll let you lead the discussion with this next question: what is your proudest accomplishment in erep so far?

My proudest accomplishment is bringing diverse groups together and seeing friendships and relationships of trust form. Each time it's an affirmation (at least in my view) that we're still a community capable of accomplishing great things when we pull together.

I recall that during the negotiations with Iran back in May, the Iranian CP happened to be someone you dealt with before years ago, involving a scandal with a lot of cc and one of their MUs. Tell us a little more about that story, because I forget some of the details.

In March of 2016 Israel Stevens was CP. His CoS was Melissa Rose. She did an audit of the various orgs the eUSA government possesses to ensure the login information was still current. In this check she found the org which had previously been assigned to the USAF MU Rogue Squadron was being used by an Iranian MU and had nearly 3 million cc stored in it. Back then 3 million cc was a pretty large chunk of money. Israel Stevens changed the logins for the org and deposited the 3 million cc into the CBO. He then published an article trolling the Iranian MU.

I just happened to be the last CO of Rogue Squadron. I was sent there by then President WildOwl to wind the MU down and find homes for the soldiers thereof in other branches of USAF. Brave Fighter one of the members of Rogue Squadron asked for and received permission to keep the MU and try to make it work. I think somewhere in there it was misconstrued that the org would go with the MU. The eUSA Executive has always jealously guarded its orgs.

There was fallout. The Iranians were upset, and The Dark Knight (TDK) a player with eUSA citizenship and a very strong sense of right and wrong was also very upset. He was the CO of UberMensch, a very hard hitting mercenary MU and had very deep pockets. In the time of combat orders allowing direct buying of damage deep pockets brought a lot of power.

The fallout was not immediate. Israel Stevens finished his term, and Melissa Rose finished hers the following month with no problems. The following month however during my tenure is when this issue came back to visit with a vengeance. We were in the midst of the Resource Wars, and at the time had what we called a Defensive Dictatorship. Periodically we would do a liberation war then initiate another Coup to reset determination. It was during this process that TDK and the Iranians struck. They prevented us from reinstalling the Dictatorship twice, each coup attempt costs 1 million cc. Each time we managed to push the button for the coup first otherwise we would have been fighting to prevent a hostile Dictatorship. Sooner or later we'd lose. So I reached out to TDK and the CO of the Iranian MU. They said if they were refunded the 3 million cc all hostilities would cease.

So I approached Congress about refunding the money, but there are of course time constraints, a discussion, proposal, vote, etc. I suppose I could have done this via SCI, but at the time 3 million cc was substantial. So I hoped to get the Speaker to waive time limits and get it done quickly. I was not successful in this, and Congress had concerns about whether the 3 million cc would be used against us. They were also more than a little put out about the 2 million cc burned on the unsuccessful attempts to reinstall the Dictatorship. So I asked TDK for more time. He told me "no money no honey" So I spent $400 to $500 time has dimmed the memory of exactly how much to purchase 3 million cc and refunded the Iranians. They kept their word and we were able to reinstall the Dictatorship with no problems. Congress began a vote on paying me back, but I told them I didn't want it. We went on to continue crushing the resource wars.

After having served in your cabinet (admittedly not having a huge wealth of other CP cabs to compare to) I would say that you are probably one of the best CPs this country has had. Congress elections are just around the corner, and after that, people will be thinking about the next CP election. Do you have any wisdom or advice you’d like to share with whoever is elected next?

I appreciate the compliment. Most if not all of the credit for my various tenures as CP goes to my Cabinets. I've always leaned on them, and they've always come through. My advice for any prospective CPs is to do your best, but be prepared for something unexpected to go wrong or to fall into your lap. It's inevitable. Also be prepared to not have your decisions be universally loved. At the best of times you can't please everyone, and in times of upheaval do what you believe is right and be ready to live with the fallout. I often quote Harvey Dent to myself when I'm CP "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Now on to some Proud&Horny Fed questions. How long ago did you join the Feds? Why did you first join?

I joined the Federalist Party in April of 2013. I'd been a member of the AAP during my first go round in eRepublik (2009 to 2010), but it was defunct upon my return. I briefly joined the AFA as they were the number 2 Party in terms of numbers, but quickly left when I realized RGR = Ajay. So I joined the Feds who were the largest Party because I remembered them from my V1 days. They were a 6ther back then but were a fun group. So I decided to see how I'd fit. I was welcomed with open arms and I've never looked back.

How do you like the party? Are they still a good fit for you?

I'm a Fed through and through. I believe we're a Governing Party. We'll work with and welcome any and all who wish to make the eUSA a better nation and a stronger community. The Party has always backed me strongly in all of my Politics endeavors.

And last but not least, the question of the hour. What is your Proudest&Horniest Fed party memory?

There are many to pick from, but the one that sticks out the most was in I believe May of 2013. Free Area has PTOD the AMP. Josh Frost and other Fed Party Leaders decided to call a Party meeting on IRC. Frost announced that we were done simply trying to contain Ajay. We were going on the offensive. Frost coordinated with the other Parties and the various MUs that comprised the eUSA community at the time and we went on the attack it took a few months, but eventually Ajay's group was unable to rise back into the top 5 for Congressional Elections. This after several years of trying to contain him.

TB, thank you so much for answering these questions, and thank you for your service to this country. You’re a great friend, a great player, and a great person. I wish you all the best of luck with everything you attempt in life.

It's been a pleasure. Thanks for the opportunity to reflect and answer your questions. You did a fantastic job as SecMed/SOE. Thank you for all that you do to engage the community.

And there we have it, folks. President Bubblar!
*applause*
*Hail to the Chief starts playing as Tyler stands up and waves to the crowd*
*enthusiastic members of the audience wave eUS flags and cheer*
*confetti cannons*
*T-shirt cannons*
*fireworks*
*a blimp does a low flyby with a Fed party banner posted on its side*
*President Bubblar walks off stage, and the crowd calms down*

Well there we have it, folks. We have reached the conclusion of this interview, but there is definitely more to come! So stay tuned for the next article!

In the meantime, here’s some music while you wait.
