Warning!

This article contains details about an illicit and potentially harmful psychedelic
and in no way condones it's usage.

Man's search for the truth can be grasped and held, yet if it's held too tightly it sifts through Man's hand like sand.

Swiss chemist, Albert Hofmann's discovery is as infamous as it is exalted, as menacing as it's angelic. Hofmann synthesized LSD, also commonly know as Acid, on 16 November 1938. Taking a dose of 250 micrograms in his laboratory, thinking it was an appropriate threshold dose (we know now that he overdid it; 200 micrograms is hitting the upper threshold), Hofmann turned on, tuned in, and dropped out for the first time. Within an hour, his perception began to ebb and flow rapidly, and he began to freak out, convinced that his neighbor was a witch and that he was going insane.

Hofmann had no access to a car because of wartime restrictions, so he had to make the journey home by bicycle. The trip was a stressful one — his vision wavered and he felt as though he were motionless — but as soon as he reached his condition’s climax, he came back from a “weird, unfamiliar world” to reassuring everyday reality, or as he expressed later;

Now, little by little I could begin to enjoy the unprecedented colors and plays of shapes that persisted behind my closed eyes. Kaleidoscopic, fantastic images surged in on me, alternating, variegated, opening and then closing themselves in circles and spirals, exploding in colored fountains, rearranging and hybridizing themselves in constant flux.

- Albert Hofmann, Probably drinking some Orange Juice afterwards
(Gotta get that Vitamin C)

Hofmann lived to the grand old age of 102. Here's a excerpt from a speech prior to his death;

It gave me an inner joy, an open mindedness, a gratefulness, open eyes and an internal sensitivity for the miracles of creation.... I think that in human evolution it has never been as necessary to have this substance LSD. It is just a tool to turn us into what we are supposed to be.

So what does this have to do with Dio? Like all tributaries we eventually find the river and the river finds the sea. Players of the first version of this game will remember Dio Brando as a charismatic leader, a figurehead of a burgeoning new eNation, inviting all to join him in his exploits.

Thus Spoke Dio

O man, take care!
What does the deep midnight declare?
"I was asleep—
From a deep dream I woke and swear:—
The world is deep,
Deeper than day had been aware.
Deep is its woe—
Joy—deeper yet than agony:
Woe implores: Go!
But all joy wants eternity—
Wants deep, wants deep eternity.

- Dio Brando

Happenstance (Man, I love that word) lead me to Dio Brando's old Journal;

God's Hand

(There's a great game w/ a similar name btw; here's a run down, no relation: https://youtu.be/jQ2r2ZFTaWk.)

No one knows what truly happened to him, or, they do. I don't know. He could have started a commune far away from the Internet, in a Xanadu of his own creation, forever surrounded by the ever shifting sands or perhaps, he simply forgot his password and decided to give Age of Empires another go, adding mod after mod until all was sand. We can only wonder, as have others, and will continue to do so, until eRep finally dies.

Dio is love by proxy. He's a rare style of internet boss or rather was.. Yet still, his presence is known. You're reading about Dio Brando right now. Be grateful his presence touched you.

About Strength

Remember, that a Country is just as mighty as its Citizens.
Remember, that a God is just as strong as his Believers.
Remember, that an Emperor is just as powerful as his Followers.

The most important people in this world are you. But, we all inhabit the same earth. Every Citizen, every Believer, and every Follower is worth just as much as the other. The only possible corrupt entity in this universe, is the leader. Leaders will change. People will not.

Remember, that a Country is just as mighty as it's Citizens.
Remember, that a God is just as strong as his Believers.
Remember, that an Emperor is just as powerful as his Followers.
But,
Never forget, that a Man is only as strong as his future Sons.

- Dio Brando, prob typing while riding on a bicycle

So, Seth, what is the point of this article?

Your guess is as good as mine, dear reader.

All I know is I know nothing and have much to learn.

Dio is Dio and some say a God.

My interest peaked so far that I can say I'm convinced he was something.
