multilingual, updated training and more

Day 797, 16:16 Published in Australia Australia by Talej

I have received a lot of good feedback after the first official eOlympic games and I’ve promised a number of updates to the eOlympics. I’ve been very busy working away at it in preparation for the next games and today sees the release of the first round of those changes. Some of the more important updates include:

New “About” page
This page will hopefully provide all the information you need to be involved in the eOlympics and to improve your chances of winning and medal (and prizes).

New “results” screen for training and competing
Now when you train you will see a break-down of the event, skill you gained and your overall skill. When competing you will see a similar break-down related to your results.

Results calculation change
There has been some minor changes to the results calculation. The random modified will now be a value between 0.01 and 2.50. For more information about this see the new “About” page.

/** UPDATE **/
Due to "popular demand" the random modifier has been randomly modified! It is now from 0.90 to 2.00

New languages
An “experimental” set of languages has been added including Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian and Hungarian. There’s still more work that needs to be done for translating but this is a step in the right direction.

If you are able to help translating to any other languages please let me know.

New equipment buying procedure
Now you can “order” your equipment directly in eOlympics. Then all you need to do is donate the required amount to eWhite Rabbit Holdings and your equipment will be available within 24 hours.

New event entry procedure
Event entry will work the same as equipment buying with event entry now costing 0.5 gold per event. This entry fee will be entirely used for prizes – so if you train hard this could be a BIG reward at the end for you.

Note - If you enter put do not pay you WILL NOT be allowed to compete

Ads
Yes, I have reluctantly put ads on there. Hosting costs money unfortunately and eOlympics has already grown much larger than I expected.

There has also been many other smaller changes that I won’t detail here and there’s still more to come. If you do find any problems or you have suggestions please let me know.

As for the next games, I will be announcing them around day change today...

That’s all for now.
