As the new Secretary of the Interior, it's my pleasure to introduce my team for the Department of the Interior.

Secretary of the Interior: Herr Vootsman

Welfare Programs:
Director, Flying Unicorn Squadron: Gildorg
Director, Meals on Wheels: James Strife
Director, Salvation Army: LordRahl2
Director, Welcoming Committee: Blazix

Recruitment and Retention:
Director, Community Development Program: Herr Nicholas
Director, REACH Program: CivilAnarchy
Director, Mentor Program: rlee16087
Director, US Job Hub: Joe Lansing

These are the wonderful people who keep all of the programs on track, organized, and keep the wheels of progress moving forward.

Goals:

Establish multiple points of contact with new players.
This is done in several ways. The first contact a new player gets is the new citizen welcome message. This message should make the game as exciting as possible, with the goal of retention rather than education. All new players will be contacted by the Community Development Program and given links to articles about fighting and wellness, as well as the NewCitizenHelp form. The Flying Unicorn Squadron will maintain a presence in the in-game chat room to help out players who may wander in there. The US Job Hubs will also send a welcome message (Similar to that of CDP) to all new employees. This message will also be distributed to private side employers, with the hope that they will send it to their new employees as well. Finally, we will work with the Party Presidents to provide them with lists of new players and suggested topics to include in their recruitment messages. People who respond to these messages will be added to a publicly view able list of "Live Ones", with the hope that other citizens friend and contract these players.

Provide 24 hour response.
We have a lot of programs that either distribute items to new players, or provide an offer of help to them. It is the goal of all programs to consistently respond to requests within a 24 hour window. The goal is to show a presence of other players, and to let players know that there is help available if they need it. By establishing contact with new players, we hope to show the prominence of the social aspects of the game, and also show that the government is here and is working to help new players.

Provide Educational Tools, Resources, and Materials
We will make resources available for those players who want to learn more or participate in the eRepublik community.

Programs Overview:

Flying Unicorn Squadron

Flying Unicorn Squadron
Director: Gildorg

The goal of the Flying Unicorn Squadron is two-fold. The first is to aid in the movement of players to fortress states. This comes in many different forms, from fulfilling requests made to the DoI Assistance request sheet, to writing articles and helping with mass relocation efforts to encourage and help players move to Karnataka. The FUS also helps to man in In-Game chatroom. While in the chat room they work to find new players and either help them, or point them in the right direction toward other resources. They also help moderate the chat room and work to contain the trolling of other nations who try to discourage our new players.
If you are interested in volunteering with the Flying Unicorn Squadron, please contact Herr Vootsman.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels
Director: James Strife

Meals on Wheels is one of the traditional Interior programs and is likely what most players think of when thinking of citizen help along with the Welcoming Committee. The goal of the Meals on Wheels program is fairly simple; to provide food to our new players.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army
Director: LordRahl2

The Salvation Army focuses on the distribution of gifts to players who have hurt their wellness. In addition, they have operate mini job hubs and have helped new players who worked for their company's with assistance and guidance.

USA Welcoming Committee

USA Welcoming Committee
Director: Blazix

The USA Welcoming Committee is one of the best known programs in the eUS. They are a "jack-of-all-trades" in that they do a little bit of everything to help new players out. The Welcoming Committee responds to all requests for help, be it food, gifts, or moving tickets. They also help by serving as an Organization that will bounce gifts to you if you are interested in gifting yourself. Finally, the Welcoming Committee often is responsible for running the "Guns for XXXX" program, where free guns are distributed to citizens to help win major battles during war.

Community Development Program

Community Development Program
Director: Herr Nicholas

The Community Development Program was created in response to the need to have proactive contact with our new citizens. The CDP works each day to send a message to every new player who joins the game in a US region. The CDP utilizes the API feed and the citizen database to identify those players who are new and each days assigns a group of it's members to send those new players a welcome message. If you are interested in helping the Community Development Program contact new players in the US, you can sign up Here.

REACH

REACH
Director: CivilAnarchy

The REACH department is the outreach program for the eUS government. The focus of REACH is to work on off site recruiting projects in efforts to increase exposure of the game, increase interest in what is happening, and ultimately drive new players to join our world. Currently, the REACH organization is focused on creating and managing a government Facebook group in an effort to increase exposure through social networking. If you are on Facebook check out the group eUS Government Hub . If you are interested in helping the REACH Organization you can send a PM to CivilAnarchy.

eUS Mentors

Mentor Program
Director: rlee16087
Director: Chisholm

The goal of the program is to make itself available to provide guidance and help to new players to the game. The Mentor Program contacts new players who request help from the Department of the Interior. They also respond to requests for assistance made directly to them. Finally, the Mentors are working to establish a presence in the in game chat room where they will be available to help players who have questions in real time. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor and helping our new players you can sign up Here.

US Job Hub

US Job Hub (McFarland Training)
Director: Joe Lansing
The goal of the US Job Hub is to provide another point of contact with new citizens. By making contact, the Job Hub will provide it's new employees with educational information, access to resources, and an offer of a mentor. The Job Hub will also serve as an economic backstop to the skill 0 job market and will ensure that there are always jobs on the market, should the private sector be unable to meet the demand for low skill labor.

We Need Your Help

Currently the Department of the Interior programs have approximately 50 players contributing their time to help with retention, education, and recruitment. If you have the time and are interested in helping out, please take a moment to contact the programs that are currently looking for volunteers. If you are interested in contributing, but don't have the time, donations can be sent to the USA Department of the Interior Organization. From there your contribution will be funneled to the appropriate programs and used to best help our new players.
