Not sure about the 'What would happen if I voted for' feature - as it is set at a fixed point in time - and so will be out of date (and untrue) as soon as anyone casts a vote.
IN ORDER TO MAXIMISE EFFECT IT IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED TO VOTE FOR UKRP
It is more relevant later on and when the voting is closed you can see how close it was
To add to Keith - that argument is true regardless of any system that isn't automatically updated; but it's still interesting to see it manually put in at recorded times so it's still 'fairly' measured
It also shows up that the system used in not monotonic
So at one point voting UKRP, Pirate or Goat would mean The Goats gaining a seat from TUP!
Surely it is monotonic as according to the definition I've seen monotonic means 'a change favorable for X does not hurt X' and the party gaining the vote certainly doesn't lose out
This system produced the Alabama paradox. When they increased the number of members of congress Alabama lost a seat. Divisor systems do not have this fault (D'Hondt or Santa Lauge)
voted - thanks again for consitently bringing out these articles
Congrats on your (projected) Election!
what is new future
This would mean more work for Keith but how about a calculation of how many unopposed votes for each party are required in order to increase that party's projected number seats by one.
Scrap that idea, as with each seat requiring 2 or less votes, intuitively, if a single vote extra doesn't gain a seat then two unopposed votes will gain an extra seat
Excellent addition - I was always a bit wary about how exactly things were calculated
