Let me tell you about Day 5,550 in eRepublik. In many ways this was a day just like many others...

I woke up, had breakfast and then started up my computer.

I like to stay organised so I put all my work tabs on one screen and my eRepublik tab on the other.

I had a sip of tea. Did my two clicks to work and train…

Then I almost choked on my tea. Wait a second. There seems to be the option for a… third click?


With the tempting offer of a free spin, we were off!

I remember this Power Spin game from before. I saw it 60 days ago actually when I had just come back to the game after a long hiatus.

I’ve had my fair share of luck in games over the years. During my 10 year break from eRepublik I won both an iPad from Komplett and £1000 to spend in a shopping centre in Scotland for example.

Could I also win 500 gold? Only 1 way to find out…

“Fix You” by Coldplay had just stopped playing. I was out of napkins to wipe my tears.

This was quite frankly embarrasing.



What do I do know? Would I have to ask my boss for a raise?

Or take out an SMS loan?

Was this really worth all the trouble I had been through with TW’s, becoming a bounty hunter and selling the naming rights to my unborn first child?

How desperate am I? Should I accept the offer from North Korea in my DMs to sell my vote for 100k CC?

My phone vibrated.

It was a discord message from my friend Et1k.

“Graytuna, I have new goods to sell!”

(Side track: Et1k is a small arms dealer who recently started selling low Q weapons in Sweden. Naturally, I would do anything to help out a friend in need)

“Great Et1k. Let me just go to the bank quickly for a withdrawal. Then I can buy your goods”

I had just helped ET1k.

I had some spare change over. Enough for one last spin.

I fired my Beyblade and it hit the ground with a loud thump. Spinning around with an average of 5000 RPM.

Et1k have given me the Beyblade as an extra for buying over 100 weapons from him.

I took a deep breath as I was watching the plastic toy spin on the ground.

Could my Power Spin also spin like this?

It was time to press the Power Spin button for one final time.

OMG. I can’t believe this.

Nevermind the 400 gold I lost. I won! Now I feel like a millionaire!

My phone buzzed again. I got another text. This time it was from that attractive female assistant of Kape that I met around Christmas at a networking event.

“Hey, we just saw you won. Congratulations! Want to come in on Monday and meet with us?

I have already set up a meeting between you and Kape who now offers private banking solutions for wealthy citizens of eSweden...”

I was lost for words. I mumbled a reply and ended the phone call.



At this point I felt utterly exhausted. Winning made me stand up and jump around the house. An angry note in the trapphuset was probably to be expected tomorrow...

But nevermind that. This was awesome!

The sense of being so close to financial ruin…. and the thrill of winning a lot of it back.

Then my phone buzzed for a third time.

A notification. What could it be? Has my application to Spelstopp finally gone through?

No it was a notification for something completely different.



With a grin on my face I heard myself mutter

"Ahh why not. Just one more spin…”
