Captcha, lemons and memory improvement, oh my

A well-known saying goes "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade". Unlike some other player-dependent problems*, captcha can't be called a full-blown problem, in my opinion. But this bit of a lemon can still be squeezed for some tasty and refreshing juice. So today's topic is simple. I'm sure some of you have already thought of it before.

* I'm looking at you, BH medal stealers. But no judgement here. Well, maybe a little judgement. I've stolen a couple of medals myself, after all, and have been stolen from.

An exercise for your short-term memory. Just take a brief glance at items at the lower part of a captcha, memorize them and the needed input order, then solve the captcha without taking another peek. Committing 4-7 symbols to memory can't be that difficult, right? Pro tip: it's not necessary to memorize the last symbol.

Treating captchas this way leads to a nice side effect - what used to be a nuisance earlier becomes a welcome excuse to give your memorizing capabilities another tiny push. Seeing those pesky short-lasting hurdles as a chance to flex those brain cells can save you some daily frustration.

Although it may be made into a long-term memory exercise by some Einsteins out there who can perfectly recall each of their dozens of solved mini-puzzles at the end of the day before bedtime. Not to mention where exactly these symbols were on a picture.

Of course, this is just my perspective as someone who does no more than four deploys on a particularly busy high-spending day. 200+ leveled players, whose countries would be eternally wiped without their contribution, may disagree.

I'm not saying that we should thank Plato for making captcha a part of erep life for active hitters, although perhaps we should, knowing that there are barriers between low to middle quality boats bots and battles for what is precious in our e-lives.

My opinion on power spins.

Как гласит одна известная пословица, "когда жизнь тебе подбрасывает лимоны, делай из них лимонад". Капча хоть и надоедливая, и полноценной проблемой её не назовешь, но и из неё можно давануть вкусного сочку. Итак, тема статьи простая. Скорее всего, у некоторых вертелась в голове схожая мысль.

Упражнение на коротко срочную память. Запоминаем нужные символы и их порядок, и без подглядки решаемых капчу. 4-7 символов нетрудно запомнить, правда ведь?
Не говоря уже о гениях, способных перед сном вспомнить каждую введенную капчу и символ. Таким личностям, наверное, под силу и долгосрочную память таким способом разминать.

Если отнестись к капче как к упражнению, она не будет так раздражать. Можно её рассматривать как лишний повод поразмять извилины.



Конечно, это мнение лично моё, а я больше четырёх деплоев в день не выдаю. У ереповчан, переваливших уровнями за вторую сотню, мнение может отличаться.
