Welcome Back?
shirosakura
Wow, it's surprising (and not suprising at all) that I can be gone five months and come back to absolutely nothing changing.
When I re-joined this game nearly a year ago, I was wide-eyed and hopeful that I could try and do my part and change this country better. I started a myraid of projects that I hoped would benefit the people here and promote positive discourse between both sides of our country. But after a full year of trying and trying and watching a countless amount of others come even closer to bringing us together, it always ended in the same result. It's clear that the problems of this nation are far larger anything we can do individually. But I refuse to be flushed out.
There's nothing I can say that hasn't been repeated ad nauseum by literally everyone, but it needs to keep being said to everyone out there: Don't give up on democracy! It's easy to give up and to think might is right, to lower ourselves into playing the game that now dominates the new world order, but if we stand tall and together as a community, we can in so many ways be a stronger, healthier, and more active group than we are today. And even if we were to get taken over, I would rather Japan be united against a foreign aggressor than to have our spirit divided amongst each other. This setup we are currently in has brought us safety, but at what cost? Is it worth the sacrifice of having a truly vibrant country, of a place where our voices matter and the destiny of the country lies in the people's hands?
I'm still very much burned out from literally everything, but some time away has given me the clarity I wish I had a year ago. I am rededicating my heart to the cause of freedom in this country and I call my countrymen to do the same. We can be so much more than this, and we shouldn't settle for anything less. I'd even be willing to do Federalist Paper-style essays if that's what it takes. But we can be so much more than we are now. Even if you don't like democracy, push for something that benefits our community as whole, something the people can be a part of. Do your part to give the people of eJapan a reason to stay.
But for now, I want to do what I can to help my country. I hope it can accept me once again.
(Also, what have I missed?)

Nobody said it will be easy but everybody said it will be impossible to reach peace and harmony between two groups xDD
You missed a few liberation and dictator wars and the Tsunami movement is dead or should I said reformed xD
Btw welcome back😁
Personally, I enjoy the dictatorship that we are currently under. It makes the play much cleaner for the things that I enjoy about the game. When I was the duly elected CP, all that democracy offered was drama with a capital "DRAMA".
I am not sure what freedoms you seek. Could you be more specific?
Is there any reason we cannot work together toward a common goal under a dictatorship?
Please note that since the advent of dictator in the game the majority of countries are under dictatorial rule and it has become the de facto preferred government of eRepublik.
Thank you for the article and welcome back.
Well for one it should be a Democratically Elected Dictatorship like most Countries do, we don't even have that. I have not been in Japan long enough to see the Drama, but I have seen people migrating away from the Country.
That's an interesting idea - have you proposed that to our dictator?
I have not. I doubt it would be accepted though.
I proposed that and it failed because the only check and balance was the rule of law and no one wanted that lol
Migration of people is a normal thing in this game and it happens in all countries (especially small ones), like that generally number of people that playing eRep is declining.
This dictatorship is supported by the majority in parliament and majority of military forces in Japan, CP was elected from the parties that support dictatorship, and only different thing here is that not the same person is CP and dictator.. Why? Because dictator have a lot of work in situation like it is in Japan, especially in this tournament: starting battles right on time, setting resources right on time, etc.. So ,the dictator is the most reliable person to be here when it needs
You see, the issue is that the current system leaves anyone not on the inside of the majority parties completely outside of the loop. Disenfranchising your citizens for the "greater good" in the ends benefits you the most. Even. If we had ideas or things to say, we're not given a platform to say them in.
I'm not saying you've done a bad job of running the country, not all. Clearly everyone in the majority is capable of doing it. But suppressing your citizens like this isn't the answer.
welcome back^
You've missed a new update. Now,for the DW to take place, one would need 1 million cc instead of 200k cc. So,it is possible that dictatorships all over the New World will end,and that democracy would be restored.
Or,the dictatorship would be implemented only in extreme necessity..
At least they're trying to rein in the frequency of coups which is very nice
