The **Building eIreland** Initiative

With the recent changes in the economic module and the introduction of land, eIreland is facing new challenges and is given new opportunities, that, so far, we have chosen to ignore completely.
A nations wealth and strength, and our ability to defend ourselves, is determined by four factors:
- The collective amount of Gold we own
- Our combined military skill
- The degree of organization and cooperation within our society
and finally
- Our industrial base, the amount of land we own and the amount of factories we can build on it.
The **Building eIreland** Initiative is aimed at boosting the latter.
As we all know, in oder to build weapons factories, mines and the like, we are now required to first acquire a plot of land, which, by design of the game, costs 1000 units of local currency each.
At current excange rates, that is a cost of roughly 9-12g for every plot of land that is bought in eIreland.
On the other hand, also by design of the game, congress has the ability to print 1000 IEP only for the cost of 5g.
This is something we need to take advantage of.
The **Building eIreland** Initiative therefore proposes for the Dail to introduce a facility that allows Irishmen and Irishwomen to buy land at cost - for 5 Gold only.
We are a small nation with big enemies, we need to play it smart.
We cannot keep relying on our allies as our first line of defense.

Printing money devalues the IEP everyone has.
Would it be better to create a plan to more efficiently utilize existing companies, rather than promoting the creation of bunch of new companies? If everyone starts owning companies, then who will work for them?

In this case the value of IEP is not affected, because the money that is created to print the IEP does not enter circulation.
It is taken out of the game again the moment land is bought.

The managers. With the rule changes, managers can work every day in EACH of their companies.
Good idea if not exploited, there must be a mechanism to ensure people will not buy gold instead. (Or more buy gold using this IEP then buy even cheaper THB or BOB and keep few golds)

Dear Irish citizens, WAKE UP this is what will happen. It is inevitable, even you hinder it in Ireland other countries will do it and force you to lower prices down to absolute zero (food cost actually).
It is obvious that Admin is trying to let everyone use their 300 health level which will decrease dominant role of tanks with gold and will also increase demand for weapons below certain quality.
If we do it right, exploitation will not be possible.
We need to require the citizen to pay the land upfront using his own money, and only afterwards compensating him.
But Starkad, how you will know that he/she bought a land?

Luminara..it requires some work on our side, but it should still be pretty easy to pull off. I was thinking along the following lines:
a) the person has to file an application with the Dail, stating how many plots of land he intends to buy
b) we will run a quick background check, to make sure we dont give people like maddog money
c) we will write down how many plots of land the player currently has, and give him the go ahead to buy the land once we did. it is possible to see other players buildings and land, so we can observe if the player is buying land or not.
d) after we can confirm that land has been bought (and it is important that it is bought in ireland, not somewhere else, otherwise IEP will enter circulation again)...the player is compensated

If I am not mistaken, it is not possible to see lands. Can you say how many lands I have?
Also, the players do not necessarily need to be irish citizens...we could also help out trusted foreigners with that.
The only thing we want to make sure is that the landis bought in eIreland using IEP.
If you checked the forum you will see we are looking at funding people to buy land plots and they donate some gold to the state.

That means we can only work with screenshots, trusting in that they are not faked.
This is knida a continuance of the topic developing in the Dail currently. The application process would have to be ridged but it might work. Limited to 1 per citizen and up the price to 6G and I think this might work. Obviously we would look to approve citizens and e😜ats first then foreigners second. Also there must be a cap set on the total number of land parcels, a price tag if you will. Keep thinking...I see more coming of this in the future.

We have enough unused IEP in the government's hands - so no need to print more. Those wishing to be given IEP for land, and are trusted citizens should head over to the Public Dail for more details.
The whole proposal is built on trust, so can not be a universal scheme to make money. Anyone could buy 1000IEP from the government at 5G and easily could put it on the market for competitive rates - meaning they make more than 5G and now there is more IEP in circulation.
Close the door on the way out.

imho, might be better to burn off what we have first - see the public dáil thread - then take stock of things again afterwards.
If every citizen is to have several companies and work in them, we might be better off finding a way to provide them export licenses, so the domestic market doesn´t get saturated.

Sorry if there was a similar idea out already, I didnt follow the forum to the new server.
But im glad to see others are having similar concepts in mind...thats the kind of out of the box thinking that we need.
As for the most recent comments. I am not necessarily suggesting that all IEP to be handed out for this project is necessarily newly printed money. The 1000 IEP = 5g served more as a general guideline of the intrinsic value of IEP.
Yesterday, I did keep thinking if there is a way to make this 100% foolproof, but none of the solutions i could come up with did not rely on trust in at least some degree...but i hope that wont derail such initiatives.
Another good way to boost our economy is to merge with the UK.
The UK wants to submit all it's territories to live under the Irish flag, JvB? That sounds like a good idea, but they may not like the sound of it.

Thanks Brian, well I just think its a good idea. Doesnt change the fact that I prefer supply and demand to run our economy over a manmade 5 year plan, but either way this would only benefit everyone.
