Ronald Reagan is Coming to Poland Soon!
Ronald Gipper Reagan
Hello Polish friends! Let the Russians know that RGR is coming, and Putin and co. better be on notice....
I will be coming to Poland for work in just over a week, and will be spending four days in Warsaw. I will then be extending and spending another four days in Krakow. I should have some available time, although not sure exactly how much! If you happen to be in/near either place, and would like to meet, then let me know.
I would also appreciate any of your tips and advice. My itinerary is going to be pretty set in Warsaw(although could potentially have a little free time, so feel free to give your input), but could use some advice on the following things....
Should I take a train from the central Warsaw station? And I have to check the times, but I was thinking of doing the slower train down since I won't be in a rush, but the fast train back up. What's the difference in quality? I have a hotel in mind that I think I will book, but could use some input there too.
I definitely want to see all the Old Town stuff, and figure I will spend most of the day at Wawel Castle, but also there's the Cathedral and the ghetto, etc. Let me know what I shouldn't miss! I figure I can walk to all the city stuff I want to do. I will also be doing an Auschwitz and Salt Mine tour, and I am deciding whether I want to do the combined one in the same day, or separately? And trying to figure out what the best tours are to do. Any recommendations on restaurants are appreciated also.

Don't forget to try pierogi, zurek soup, bigos and polish kielbasa 😉
Polish kielbasa 😉
I don’t know if I’ve seen bigos yet … tried the others. The soup was interesting. Apparently it’s a very divisive topic.

Have a great time in Poland!

Go jump from the bridge u little russian kurwa
Bolek to szmata, wiemy. Mir? W to mamy iść? Po głód i niewolę? Szok. Szok.
@Yela. To taki krajobraz anglojęzycznych przyjaciół. Można by jeszcze o Jałcie - Churchil ze Stalinem i można by jeszcze o zagadkowej śmierci generała Sikorskiego - bo 50 lat minęło i jeszcze nie odtajniono.

To Reagan jeszcze żyje?
Tak jak Elvis. 🙂
Salt mines and Auschwitz are must sees along with old town, been there twice, enjoy.
I've heard the salt mine is a see if you have 3 days, but skip it if you have 2. I'll have 3 days, but I imagine the castle is going to take up almost a whole day. I will see if I should split Auschwitz and the Salt Mine up, or do it in one day, still thinking..
Did both in a 10 hour day both times I was at krakow. Hire a local guide for day to take you to both. Costs $150ish for day, they will drive you, can not remember exact costs but like every thing in Poland very very much cheap. Best city in Europe I have been.
I wouldn’t say it’s cheap. Maybe marginally cheaper than here or at least, as far as the hotels are concerned. I mean you can compare the prices for a nice hotel in Kraków now compared to New York and it’s really pretty similar. I didn’t really check for Warsaw since that’s being taken care of for my work part.
In Auschwitz ask good questions - for example: What company sold the Nazi German the system for signing the prisoner? - they looked at the tatoo number and they know it was Rom, Pole, Russian, polish miniory or Jew /binary encoded/. Ask about nationality and name of person that made that tatoos for each of the prisoner's arm. Ask about name of company that design and makes uniforms for SS. Ask about the numbers of victims by nationality. Ask about "magic number of victims" and read New Your Times form the begining of 20 century - hint look for headlines on 1st page and newspaper advertisements.
The only problem with the double tour thing is it leaves at like 7 AM and I can’t even get breakfast at the hotel by then. So I don’t know. I will think about it. I think it was less than 150 person though
