Reserves Shake Up

Day 233, 10:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ministry of Defence

The reserves are inactive. There have been no COs for the last month and a bit lit leading to inactive sergeants and a dead army. But that is about to change.

The reserves are being restarted. Yes, that means that EVERYBODY has to re-sign up (or sign up if you're new). A PM to Paddyohale (reserve commander) or a comment on here will suffice. If you wish to be a sergeant please also PM Paddyohale. Reserve CO's have already been chosen so there are no vacancies there. You will receive 75 GBP on sign up for 3 q3/q4 weapons (depends on price). Please be aware that the 3 strength limit applies.

The biggest problem with the reserves was keeping sergeants active, I believe (I have no shame in admitting that the idea was the President's and the text below was copied from the forum) that a pay structure (for Sergeants and CO's only) will solve this. I also plan on implementing random activity drills that will increase activity and pay for sergeants.

I propose a pay structure that will pay a sergeant 1GBP per troop that reply’s per drill. I’ll get onto troop numbers later but they will either be 5 or 10 so if a SGT gets all his squad to reply its not bad pay and ranges 1-4 days wages for most.

With the SGT’s being paid its only fair to do the same to the CO’s and although it would be “too costly” to pay them 1GBP per troop in there platoon that replies with squads of say 30 half of that isn’t bad.

So numbers are debatable as normal but the idea is to get activity up more then pay the poor here so im aiming for lowest amount to provide the most outcome.

5 in a squad. 2/3 activity SGT’s wage = 3 GBP

10 in a squad. 2/3 activity SGT’s wage = 6GBP

30 in a platoon. Say 2/3 activity CO’s wage = 10GBP

90+ troops 3* CO 9*SGT(at 6GBP or 18*3GBP) = 84GBP a week.

Full activity = 135GBP

I’m still yet to hear the budget but that number could be doubled looking at it.

SGT(5) = 0-10
SGT(10) = 0-20
CO = 0-30
Total cost = 0-270

Why am I doing this? The reserves are the largest part of our army and as such must be active, organised and well equipped. The only way to do this is turn over a new leaf and purge the inactives from our ranks.
