Parliament News - Edition nr. 03

Day 3,236, 15:09 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

The August/September Parliament has ridden in to the sunset, and here are a summary from the last months political life:

CONCLUDED DEBATES:

eNorwegian Ambassadeur program:

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eris Caelestis (Tek), released an Ambassadeur Program this month. The purpose is to develop and promote eNorwegian interests abroad. This initiative was well recived in Congress. Last week we saw the glorious opening of an eNorwegian Embassy in eUnited Kingdom, and appointed new Ambassadeur is Joshua Morriseau. And it seems he has found an appropriate nice little house in eLondon. It`s reported good reception in British public about this. MoFA Eris do declare it will be several Embassies to come in other countries too.

In the next congress it`s expected a more detailing discussion about the administraton and costs concerning this new initiative.

From his excellency Joshua`s modest opening supè in eLondon

Size of Parliament debate:

Prime Minister integer syntax (P) decided the upcoming congress to be a 10 seats congress. And to this election it was 30 candidates. Therefore I decide to give my main commentary this time to this issues (see below)

UNCONCLUDED DEBATES:

eNorwegian development fund:

This month there has been none contibutions from the eNorwegian Development Fund, and there has either been discussions in the last congress. As we remember it was decided to give a share to someone who could write positive article about eNorway (se edition nr 2)

Minister of Education, Jasper Zuidema (NGP) states:

“Unfortunately there hasn't been much interest in the scheme just yet as there have been no applicants who have contacted me about the funding. Because of that, the funding will be carried over to the next sitting congress, who will decide what to do next with the funds. I think the biggest problem for the scheme is that we have to get the knowledge of it out there so that new players can actually take advantage of it. As for proposals I would not be sure what the next one will be concerning the Norwegian Development Funds as that will be up to congress to decide how they are best to be used”

By this, Northern Ligth hopes to contribute to more knowledge and active debates in the current congress about this excellent issue.

Monarchy debate:

We are still waiting to see the upcoming draft concerning a Royal Constitution. Some Panama-papers (or was it only forgotten papers?), give us some hints about the content of a monarchy, and procedures on how to it should be put in practise. Perhaps it also will content some proposals about an upcoming nobility. But, by now, it all is speculations. But we do foresee an interesting an engaging debate about this, when the proposals get revealed.

Approved CS Applications:

There has been given no CS approvement in the last congress term!

Political approvements:

Major Lee Hung (earlier Prince Sheogorath) was given political approvement last congress term

The new Parliament of September - October 2016:

The results from eNorwegian congress-elections is official. This month it was only 10 seats to fight for, and with 30 candidates from all 5 parties it could be a good competition, but……..! L8 is back in business again. The turnout has a good increase this time to 35 from 28 last time. The reason for that is presumably some more mobilization from the parties themselves.

Kvakk: --- 9 votes (+1) --- 25,71 % (-2,86 😵 --- 3 MP`s of 10
TeK: --- 8 votes (+3) --- 22,86 % (-+5,00 😵 --- 2 MP`s of 10
Partiet: --- 8 votes (+1) --- 22,86 % (-2,14 😵 --- 2 MP`s of 10
NGP: --- 7 votes (-1) --- 20,00 % (-8,57 😵 --- 2 MP`s of 10
L8: --- 3 votes (+3) --- 8,57 % (+8,57 😵 --- 1 MP`s of 10

The overall trend is:
Higher turnout and L8`s resurrection on the political arena, make some severe changes in this election. Teknokratene has to be proclaimed the big winner this time, becoming the second largest party after some months down in the valley, and gain both votes and shares of the electorate. Down in the valley this time is without no doubt NGP, falling from top last time to the 4th biggest party. Kvakksangerne has now become the largest party in congress, although CP Yanisin has not been so visible lately.

In this election all parties, except NGP, can find some gains, either in numbers of voters, or in share percentance in electorate. NGP`s loss this time seems a little bit surprising, because this party usually is one of the more active ones, and the decrease now maybe a consequence of the low activity in general in the game this month. L8 is on a little top again in their rollercoaster life. Can we, with more efforts and visibility from them, see L8 on same size and level as the other parties?

Commentary:

Yaaaawn! Did we have an election……?”

Since I was very young, I`ve always been fascinated of politics and election campaigns. The ballons and banners, the engagement and the excitement on election day of whom`s to gain terrain and whom to lose. And the arguments and all the noisy debates! So therefore, to the last congress-elections, I was looking forward to read and listen to a refreshing political turmoil in eNorway, I listened! And I listened again!

Just kidding!
The eNorwegian election campaign was as noisy as the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amon! BEFORE the excavation in 1922!

Yes, yes. I know, you will say to me; you have watched to much on the American Party Conventions lately and bla, bla bla! And perhaps the congress-election is a secondary election, behind the CP-election? And perhaps the most of you are veteran players and good friends, knowing each other well.

But still you are all seems so mostly “disappointing” agree, from the left wing to the right wing! Libertarians and totalitarians as well! Because, in an election campaign I want to see some more ACTION! I want to see more fighting to gain favour of The Voter! Remember The Voter is your Hunting Trophy! NONE of you politicians told us voters why we should vote for an instance “TeK” or “Liber8” or some of the other parties (my own party included)! I couldn`t see what was the parties main issues and priorities for the next period. Either how to deal and improve the economy, or how you want to spend my hard-earned tax payment? And what`s about the military or foreign affairs? Or the parties approaching toward actualities, for instance the upcoming Monarchy debate?

After the election I have to quote Manuel in the old classic “Fawlty Towers”: “I know nothing!!”

¿qué?

In this game, we are all “actors”, and we are playing different characters, facing an audience! In this article I am playing the journalist, and as journalists do in the real world, I want to play out and amplify all the differences between the parties, and between the personal candidates! The fight, the intrigues and disagreements is good for the subscription numbers of the newspaper!! (Ehh… Uuuups….! Forget the last sentence! You did`nt hear that, did you…..?)

Yes, yes, yes, I know! You will tell me; Another big challenge in eNorway is the lack of activity! But perhaps the lack of inspiring, exciting and funny election-campaigns is one of the reasons to the lack of activity? Could we, as “actors”, make some fun of these processes?

Therefore, instead of being only a bigtalking frog, I want to contribute myself, and I hope you politicians do play the game in return! In the time to come, I wish in my newspaper, to invite you 5 Party-Presidents to “A Talk With” article with each of you. I will focus on the differences between your parties, your peculiarities and not at least, your ambitions!

And if anyone of you launches some political initiatives, give me a tips, and I will as editor write about it, based on common journalistic principles (and maybe ask your counterparts for critical comments, just like in the real world out there somewhere )! Do you 5 PP`s take the challenge?

I will finally quote some words of a late prime minister, who once sai😛 “Politics is wanting” (“Politik är att vilja.”). What is your wanting, as party presidents, parties and candidates? If we don’t have any disagreements, could we MAKE some, or FAKE some? In the name of the good game!

I am still listening!
