One Week in Congress

Day 682, 00:42 Published in USA USA by Jude Connors

Well, it's been one week and Congress is on the ball! As always, we are busy moving money to the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) and Issuing Money. There's nothing spectacular with that. To see all of the Congressional Proposals, click here.

But the groundwork has been put in place. The 22nd eUSA Congress now has a Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Congressional Whip. KillingTime is Speaker... Tiacha is DPoH, and Astra Kat G is the Whip. Congratulations to each of them; I am sure the 22nd Congress is in great hands with them at the helm.

The Congressional Committees have also been assigned. I've been appointed to the Government Oversight Committee, chaired by the ancient Congressman Cromstar. Apparently it hasn't been the most active of committees in recent Congresses, but Cromstar has stated his intent to change that. In fact, I might be busy helping do something with the Skill 0 Program.

Remember the "Job Corp" idea I presented while campaigning? The Skill 0 Program is eerily similar, but it needs an overhaul. I've talked to a long-standing, respected member of Congress and ran a revised "Job Corp" idea by him for the Skill 0 Program and he liked the idea. He even pledged to help me turn the idea into an actual plan and then a proposal to Congress. I've got to do the legwork, as he'll act in an advisory role, but at least someone in Congress likes the idea. Now it's time to get to work. I'm starting on it after a good night's rest.

This week I've also set-up an IRC office on Rizon. When you get on the Rizon IRC, go to #Connors-Office and pay me a visit. Starting Wednesday night, I plan on holding an open forum, town hall meeting in my IRC Office. I'll have more details on that soon.

Always, feel free to contact me at anytime. Message me or stop by the office. The lovely fivescott is helping out in the office and is functioning as a secretary. If nothing else, stop by and tell her "Hi." I'm sure she gets bored there!

Till next time, remember to "take a sad song and make it better".
