Music and time
Ilene Dover
What a difference a few weeks makes! For some reason, I'm super excited to have passed 100 subscribers. No scripts, no under the table deals. (Possibly) all people who want to know what I have to say.
To say thank you, and to remind myself that 200 is the next target, I've got 200 Q1 food for all the people brave enough to answer below.
I was going for a fairly generic and, frankly, boring article. But...this is much more fun!
So, do tell us all down below. What song topped the chart on the day you were born?
How on earth can anyone know that? Use this handy dandy little site.
A side note: it seems data goes back to 1946 or thereabouts. If there's no data for your 0th birthday, I'll settle for you writing "over the hill".
🙂
What about me? No, not the truly awful song
The day I was born, Eye of the Tiger topped the US charts. Yes, the original by Revolution and not the cover. If any of you can nail down my actual birthday (only one guess each please) I'll find some sort of prize for you.
So, don't be shy! Jump in!!!

Great to know which song topped the chart when I born 😃
But what was it? You must share! 🙂
Ordinary World Duran Duran
And sub 109
Nice song. 🙂
Miss You, Rolling Stones
I miss you too Lany!
Taking a break from politics as usual? :--
While I do miss you, Miss You is the name of my song. 🙂
Nothing for 1951...hm...I have looked around and as far as I have seen Survivor wrote and recorded 'Eye of the Tiger'...I did find this...

...but I will guess May 29, 1982...?
Baaawaaaahahaha...the #1 song January, 1951...wit for it..."The Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page...?
Classy! You won't find that on a soundtrack to Rocky! Ever thought about turning it back 9 months to see what your parents were dancing to when you were conceived? 😈
You're in the right area for my birthday, but it isn't 29 May.
V8 and new susc!! n.n
You need to share though!
Or is it something truly embarrassing, like CrazyFrog? 🙂
1984, Stevie Wonder had his first UK No.1 with 'I Just Called To Say I Love You'.

The best thing and Stevie Wonder songs is that nobody else can do them justice. It keeps the originals a precious thing.
Subbed
And your Dad was listening to ??? on the drive to the hospital. 🙂
His wife telling him to hurry 😃 I'll look it up... *looks up the song* The song: Genesis - I can't dance
Gettin Jiggy Wit It - Will Smith
Please accept my deepest condolences, that is a truly awful song. 😐
I sent you extra food. I hope it can make up for your loss.
I'm Sorry, Benda Lee
So am I... 😕
The Wayward Wind, by Gogi Grant
Old man. 😛
Indeed. This is a big year for me... my Dad is turning 90! 🙂
Happy birthday to your old man, when his day comes! 🙂
My grandfather is turning 80 in a few weeks. He won't live to 90 - far too much of a racist alcoholic. We love him anyway.

I am so very glad my speakers were turned off when that opened up...
I Pretend, Des O'Connor
You're only a baby! I remember dancing to that song as a teenager!! 😒
Ha ha first time I have been called a baby in a while! I am usually the oldest of the friends i hang out with...
Freak Me - Silk \o/
btw is it 31-Jul-1982 ?
You're allowed to watch Breaking Bad when you're that young?!
Not m'birthday although you're in the ballpark. The northern summer of '82 is about right, but Eye of the Tiger should have given that away already. 🙂
wait..how old do you think I am? xD
Silk came out with Freak Me in the early to mid 90s if I recall correctly. 92 or 93 probably.
haha yeah I'm 93..I was watching breaking bad when it was still on 5th season and then marathon from the first 😛
😃
Cheeky! You need to share! Unless you're pre-'47... 😛
[МнЗ][BG/EN] MM Medal game

Im afraid to check it out, im pretty sure some cockney shait was actual back then.
But I will post some song, i'm more concerned with the music in the moment of my death https://youtu.be/qR0K0mmm6R4
and u shuld be 24th or 31st july
or 4th september
You need to pick just one... 🙂
I could care less what song is played at my funeral. I'll be dead and won't know a thing about it! Alice in Chains is cool though. Up there with the only song to make me smile at a funeral - Star Trekking across the universe.
Starship, We built this city
Nice. We must be about the same age then. Maybe I'm partial to 80s music... Probably shouldn't say that out loud.
BABY GOT BACK - SIR-MIX-A-LOT
I'm so sorry... Thanks for getting it stuck in my head.
Ace of Base - The Sign
I had to go for Australian flag, because other songs were... not good at all (I tried UK first, but apparently, a song about Manchester United was popular back then 😃 )
Hey, we got good taste! Ace of Base are cool. 🙂
Any tips about the less cool? For the early 90s it's probably Kylie Minogue or some other tragedy...
Well, on the day of my birth you certainly had a better taste than the rest of the world 😃 . Also, I knew the song from the radio, so that helped...
I'm not a music expert at all, so all of my favourite music would probably be "less cool". Also, I have nothing against Kylie Minogue at all... epsecially when she is signing that she will be "In my arms" or ůIn your eyes"... 😃
Three Steps To Heaven - Eddie Cochran
