...the greediest

Greed is an extreme and selfish desire to own money, property or goods with the intention to keep it for one's self. Greed can also be defined as desire to acquire more than a single person or group needs or deserves, especially in a material sense. Greed of power is the drastic form of greediness where one person or group gathers too much power to himself or themselves which causes inequality or misery to a certain group of people or in an extreme situation a total collapse of the system. Greed is a mortal sin and falling into it should be avoided by all costs.

With this definition of greediness shall the actual, totally fictional, story begin.

Once upon a time a lonely citizen lived in a distant virtual world. As the world was virtual the citizen actually didn't exist but was controlled by a fellow traveler from the real world. The citizen had lived a long life in a world and he surely knew how the general management of the world and the states that were part of it, worked.

Every state of this virtual world is a democracy. Monthly elected Parliament is able to control the basic things of the state. Things like taxes, fees and laws are controlled by this organization.

Above the Parliament is also monthly elected President with his precious government. Together with the Parliament the President can make a bigger decisions like declaring wars and controlling the foreign policies.

But that isn't all. Every President, member of government and every citizen is ultimately controlled and guarded by the Council of the Elders, often referred as the great administration group. This group of people owns the whole virtual world and uses the highest decision-making powers. The group is lead by an ancient philosopher, whose name the citizen can't remember even though he tried. The philosopher claims the Administration group is constantly developing the world to a better direction. And that they'd dedicate their lives to achieve their ultimate goal: a perfect world.

But the reality is different. Nobody believes what the Elders are saying. General opinion is that the team is full of power gathering, selfish and despicable worms who are just doing constant changes to the world and the way it works making everybody confused. The Elders don't respect, listen or sometimes even care about small, ordinary citizens and their feelings and thoughts. Like a force of a thousand men they are ripping, slaughtering and punishing every great citizen who is too brave or stupid to raise a word or a fist against them. They are keeping in their decisions even though sometimes a suggestion from the people is a far more better way to deal with the matter.

They come from hell. With no respect. With no proper communication. With ignorance. With some beautiful words but devastating changes. They come with greed of power, they rule with destruction, slaughter, censorship... The Elders don't love the world. If they'd love it, they'd rule with respect and wisdom - not by terror and lies.
These thoughts were circling in the head of the citizen.

The citizen continued thinking. In a virtual world it is possible to buy virtual money for money from the real world. In his mind he traveled a long way back in time.. and he found himself reminiscing the old times when the world was far more equal and the virtual currency was bought by only a few people. And rarely because of a strict regulation.

Nowadays The Elders are continuously inventing new ways to force citizens to use their virtual currency to nonsense. They are opening wars when them aren't needed and adding new payments for every action in life. And this leads to the fact that citizens has to buy more virtual currency for real world money. Whit out any limitations. A vicious circle and the grand culmination of greed and short-sightedness!

Even though buying virtual money is stupid in his opinion, the citizen continues to think the other side of the coin. The prices. He concludes that greed does not seem to have a limit. People are wasting thousands and thousands of units of real life money to buy a handful of virtual coins. Those who have money to buy will buy, and those who haven't will suffer. Discrimination, again!

The citizen was tired of thinking. So much grievances, so little hope. But he hopes for better tomorrow. In his dreams the world is free again!
