From the Pedestal: Choose Your CP Candidate Well
Alias Vision
At the time of my starting to write this article Dill holds a 2 vote lead over Punisher. Since I've been keeping track of the tally three hours ago, that lead has never extended beyond 3 voices and has been dead even more often than not.
To say that this is a tight election would be an understatement.
There are some things that I find very interesting about this particular race. One is that Dill has been one of the biggest issues and that is to be expected since he is on the ballot. DMV has been another of the big issues but he isn't on the ballot. Why?
Part of the answer is that we are dealing with big personalities and those take up a lot of real estate in our small community. The other is the way that individuals have chosen to do politics.
None of us are immune to messaging but we have a fair amount of experience with it and most of us are smart enough to guess the impacts of our words and actions when we put them forth.
Instead of going down that path and talking about negative messaging, I want to bring something else to the attention of everyone. Why do Canadian candidate's cabinets mostly contain the same players? Why do most serious, achieving Executives contain the names klop, Smoke, Xichael? It's not a coincidence.
For one thing, they are hard working (oh no, there is that word again!). They dedicated an inordinate amount of time so that we can, as a nation, have a chance at succeeding. They can be passionate about issues but none of them are dogmatic. They are trustworthy.
But what I want everyone to take away from all this is that those three citizens, as part of any cabinet but more importantly as regular members of the community, are bridge builders. Their one overarching principle is that they build and will sacrifice to do so.
So when you decide who to vote for, if you have not done so already, let consensus builders be your guide. Evaluate the cabinets of the people you will vote for looking for this quality. Then compare that with the leader and see if he complements them.
Hard working.
Trusted.
Principled.
Consensus builders.
That's my formula when I choose. Happy electioneering.

Don't try to outsmart yourself, play to your strengths.
Ofc I am one of the biggest issues in this election. Everything I do is a nefarious plot to gain power. Muwahahahahaha! What the people who claim that fail to realize is if I actually cared about power I would have stayed in CPF and played with the old boys club.
Nefarious plot? I think you may very well be the only person to have made that claim so far. ; )
I wish I were. Dill has claimed I'm Canada's Pfeiffer. It's quite hilarious since I do things for very different reasons than Pfeiffer.
That's not quite the same as calling what you do a nefarious plot. Comparing you to Pfeiffer is a characterization that implies certain things, sure. Inasmuch as Canada had a personality like Pfeiffer, then yes, you would have to be considered in the running. Wouldn't you agree? If not, who would make the shortlist?
Muglack, Xander, Dill, and especially Klop. Klop pulls a lot more strings behind the scenes than anyone, but he does it in such a way that people don't question it at all.
Klop's my multi
I forgot about IBB, he's the king of nefarious plots when he's active.
So far, I don't mind Klop pulling strings. He's pretty good at it.
I'm non-ferrous, magnets don't stick to me.
klop can pull ma strangs any time he wants, y'all
Pfeiffer wishes he was Xander.
I believe both our crimes are we refused to kiss the ring.
Voted!

I like your take on things. At the risk of being accused of letting my cabinet do all the work, I'd mention that without them I would have a helluva time pulling this off. DMV might be a one man show but I ain't.
I wouldn't say I'm a one man show, when I am CP I lead by example. I bust my a** because I want others to do the same. I didn't do the job alone, I had a great cabinet.
Is it consensus or the concentration of power?
They're all competent but I wouldn't give them the credit for holding onto their spots. So many other parts of eCanada have become static or regressed that it begs for a slowdown in rotating through our community's elites.
I also think some people would rather sit and wait for some perceived mistake of others to pounce on, then actually doing the work themselves and risking making a mistake themselves.
It is much easier to appear clever when you are second guessing the work of others.
The 'hard work' as Alias puts it?
Government is simple, you people pretend it's hard so others don't rise up and take your place at the table. The fact is, any moron can do it and most months in eCanada a moron is doing it.
I have to start saving some of these quotes for the next time you run for CP or want to tell us how much better your foreign affairs team is then your opponents DMV.
You playing the anti establishment card is laughable. You wrote the book on how to be the establishment. 3 CP 11 congress medals.
You forget one thing ED, when I was CP I attempted to include anyone who wanted to be included. That's not very elitist of me. I have always tried to be inclusive and reach out to the entire community.
You're right. I don't remember this at all. I kind of remember you as a divide and conquer kind of guy. A person who prides himself on his ability to troll others.
I do troll people, but not when I was CP. I usually troll people who treat this game like srs bsns, it's a game. The point of being here is to have fun. Some people try to make the game fun for others, and some people try to suck the fun out of it. I'm here to entertain, as long as you remember that you will be fine.
Except when people, i.e. the ones being trolled, take the trolling too seriously they're having the fun sucked out of them. I wouldn't place all the blame solely on the sad individual nor solely on the havoc-wrecking trolls, but everyone should be responsible for taking care of themselves and the overall community.
I a bit late getting to this but the truth can sting a bit. Solid article.
