Final Results for the Congressional Elections

Today is a great day for eGreece and a celebration of democracy as the country held its first multy party elections. The Greek government was a strong supporter of empowering democratic institutions and the multy party elections gave the opportunity to the citizens to judge and decide who will be representing them for the coming month.

There was much preparation with talks on the forum, newspaper articles and shouts over the last days in an attempt to make people aware and get them interested. It seems that the effort was successful as there was an increase in participation of about 40% since last elections.

The final results have clearly shown that the population of eGreece puts its trust on the current governing party the Ethniko Enotiko Kinima, lead by the current President Mr Makoulin, as eight of its candidates made it to congress and only 2 from the Greek Independents Party lead by Mr Nathanael Greene. Mr Greene didn’t manage to get the required votes and was left out of congress.
