Building a party!

Day 3,132, 07:05 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

You got an idea, in our case today, the nonsense ideology, and want this glorious idea to be a great leading world wide movement. How to find the best way to get the best results? War and revolution could be an option, of course, but it is very costly and laborious way of doing things. And it gets you a unnecessary lot of bad feelings from those whos disagree. Maybe a better way is to use the political path, by founding a political party.

But building a political party is not easy either. If you are the only member of your party, your influence on the rest of the world are strictly limited. Therefore you have to cooperate with other people around you, whether you like it or not. You have to create a team, with different roles and capabilities. In this lesson today, I want to focus on different roles inside a party, and whom to fill it. Every comparition of real life figures is a pure coincidence.

The Party-president:

This is the most important role in the whole party-organisation. You will be the messenger and prophet for your new ideology, being charismatic and engaging. In good times you're the big hero, in not so good times, you are the great scapegoat. In bad days you also have to handle resistance and intrigues from your own internal party contenders. In in really, really bad days it`s most alluring to take an “Saddam Hussein”, and hide yourselves in a rabbit hole, when everything turns up against you. But in periods of rising success, it will be an inspiring position.

A really, really bad day.........!

Vice-President:

The Vice-president is the personal stand-in for the party president. Your job is to support your boss, be his right hand, cover up his/hers mistakes, and be the buffer and lightning rod to protect your PP. In good times you will be standing in the glory of your PP, securing your own position. If someone wants to throw rotten eggs on your PP, you will be that person to catch it up. You also have to convince the public about the advantages of your politics, and minimalize the challenges of other opinions. In same time you have to maintain your own position, if circumstances brings up several possible career paths. The clou is to know the exact rigth moment, when to change your position. That`s we call an balancing act of politics.

Time to change position.....?

Secretary General:

The Party Secretary General is the person who take care of the internal and international network building, specially towards your ideological sister part(y)ies in other countries. The job involves a lot of representation (mostly drinking), and a personal advantage is a strong liver and a good balance capability. The job content is to improve personal relationships, by using the best of your social skills.

Councillor:

A good councillor advice his PP, giving the best inputs, using his best intentions to the good for himself, for the party and for the country. He must be able to hold a clear and strategic thinking and to use a clear and unambiguous language. The obvious in this position is personal integrity where nobody asks questions about personal gains.

Spokesman:

The spokesman is the person who take cares of the party`s external image (I don’t see the necessity of someone to see the internal images). Personal enthusiasm and credibility is the keys of success in this job. You have to sharpen your message, to get direct eye contact, and in the same time seems convincing. Experiences from performance in pure ideological media-companies might be an advantage.

Personal enthusiasm and credibility is a must in this job......
