Beginning The Movement
Azazel Romanov
I thought this was a going to take a few days, but let’s just replace the placeholder now.
I’m disappointed.
Recently I came to an epiphany that I wanted to fundamentally change the way that our country worked. Namely, I wanted all individuals, parties, congressmen, and presidents to be able to operate in any way that they saw fit. I wanted political organization to have no set structure, requirements, or rules. To legalize chaos. So, I proposed to repeal the Constitution. And what happened?
The revolutionaries ran. The Black Sheep packed up and quit. Other fade or lurk. Now, I suppose it is good that they have decided to abandon a system they disagreed with, and that in the past I had pressured them to do so. But I realized a problem with this. The SFP and BSP may be able to organize in-game and do as they please, but they hold no political control with this approach. A majority still dwell upon the forum and hold all the levers of power. Now there is no opposition. Now there are no dissenters. In my last article I called them cowards, and now I am convinced. They have let their anger, frustration, and hopelessness overcome them, and they have left to allow a broken system to continue. I’m disappointed.
I admit that my change of heart might have come too late to sway others to my point of view, but I still must attempt to put my vision in place. I do not wish to flee the forum and wait for another conclusion. Nor do I want to pretend that organizing a minority in-game will fundamentally change the dynamics of our government (Spoiler Alert: It Won’t). I am going to tear the system apart from the inside using its own devices. I am going to give my revolution true legitimacy even to those who obey only the laws of a forum. I will gain control of institutions to burn them, and I will write laws that unwrite all others. I am going to assert my vision in a way the SFP and BSP have never attempted. I will play their game and win.
Those who led the flight from the forums likely promised salvation from its mechanizations, tedium, and torment, but they failed to cripple its control. In fact, they never even attempted to break the system. Your money will continue to feed it, and your absence will continue to empower it. All because you couldn’t stand to be derided for your beliefs. I’m disappointed.
Your false prophets have only served to create a God, no, a Demon. And this cloven hoofed, winged fiend now wins the Presidency without contest. He can select a committee of followers and get anything he wants. And what do you have to show for it? Pride? Contempt? Only fools are satisfied with these emotions.
So, I understand what you’re thinking: wrap up and get to the point. Simple, I want to create a movement across parties to fully repeal the meta-government. Not run from it. Not avoid it. Not wait it out. Repeal. All. Of. It. But I need your help. You don’t need to change your party, your friends, or your hairstyle. Just lend me your congressional votes (and whatever brief time you can give to the forum). You don’t kill a beast by feeding it, you have to tear out its heart. I’ll understand if some of you feel you can’t blast your beliefs like myself, so I can even respect your private support. Just shoot me a message, we’ll organize on our own terms.
We might fail, be ridiculed, and fade away. But we'll have at least tried something more significant. Should we be successful, we'll venture into uncharted territory for this country. Many will resist, but I want to see how this affects the game. For this I desire no power or control. In my old age I have seen and done everything I desire. Now all I seek is some change.

IS IT A NEW CONSTITUTION?
Much better.
Are we getting a congress channel, on discord?
Time to read the article again, folks!
Ayy lmao this'll be fun. I might come back.
This is beautiful
Revolution? Sounds like fun.
Circular argument?
Yes
It's not a revolution. At all. It's a scheme. He wants to be CP with no rules to govern him from doing what ever he wants. No congress to govern him. And no rules to do what ever he wants with the nations treasury.
There are already ways to do that, essentially. I could maneuver my way to obtaining the whole treasury and running rampant, if I so choose. All of it, legal.
I don't want any of that. I don't want to run for President again. I want to bring everything to in-game. I've already been president and spent most of the Treasury on a war.
It's not that fun. Your fears are misplaced.
Good luck!
Hope you can pull this off

There are only six Law Proposals that a Congress Member can make that actually affect the game. Nothing that happens in 'Cloud City' affects the game, only those subforums. It would seem to me the easiest way to remove an unwanted government is cut off its supply of money.
As long as they hold a majority in congress everything they do there affects the game. And your congressional minority will only wilt if you stick to yourselves in-game.
Nice sentiment, though I am unclear on the details of what is being proposed. Also thinking maybe a bit more needed in the way of olive branches if you really want to reach out across all parties? I get a little confused with what feels like a tendency to combine trolling/bashing people, then immediately calling on them to support your program. I know, that is a fairly common malady, which I am guilty of as well, but still -- feels like some kinda cognitive dissonance. Maybe some free-form, bash-free brainstorming is in order?
1. You don't need an olive branch, all you need is to vote for repealing government. We don't need to agree on anything else. I'm not interested in creating some new government collective, I'm interested in eliminating government. If you need me to be "nice" to you for you to act upon what you believe, then you don't really believe it.
2. I don't know what brainstorming you need. All I need is enough congressional votes to overturn the system. That's it. We don't need some comprehensive action plan.
I am bashing people for taking an ineffective course of action. I am proposing a new one that would work.
This reminds me a bit of (RL) Democrats who try to get people to vote for their candidate by telling the voters how stupid they are.
I desire to shape none of your political views aside from one, to repeal the government. I don't want anything else. If you choose to go along with your current plan, which I assume is nothing, then I believe that plan is flawed.
Simple as that.
Down with the system! anything that makes a good change has my vote.
We created a demon with cloven hooves? You go, Jerry Faldwell.
It's a pony joke, bro.
It's clearly a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I prefer a wolf in horse clothing
" Revolution! Repeal the constitution! replace with....uh...well...I'll tell you later....don't worry about it....just me CP...with no rules for me to follow! I swear everything will go legitimately! This is totally not yet another power grab! "
Honestly, I'm not sure how this is a power grab. Getting rid of the constitution and meta would just be following what your party has done, no? You've left the "consitutional" powers all to the "elite."
This would get rid of the meta institutions, from which they seek to derive power. Where is the power grab?
Yeah. This is actually the opposite of a power grab. If you valued institutions so much why did you abandon them?
I'm not running for president, I'm campaigning to remove all forum governance. Unless you want to change your mind and suddenly endorse a system you hated.
The comments which follow this fine article are further evidence that there is a brick wall of ignorance and stupidity that no amount of protest, no change in governance, no words of wisdom will ever penetrate.
Our community used to be big enough to marginalize it. Now, as the majority of sensible people have fled to other games, this growing Confederacy of Dunces has inherited a large enough slice of the pie to be seen, but mostly only that.
This should be the age of Ajay. He at least could articulate a foolish agenda well enough to attract support.
Will this be the age of Anarchy instead?
Here's my note to the dissenters:
It is not an "Olive Branch" that is being offered. Wake up! This is an enemy of your enemy.
This is one who has gone rogue in a direction you didn't foresee.
This is one who has the organizational fortitude to actually pull something off that would truly cripple the forum power you despise.
And your leaders, one by one, continue to draw you into isolation.
Where are the Niemands and the Norms and the Boudahilis who have the good sense to see this for what it is? Speak up! Come on SFP! Come on BSP! Get your heads out of the sand.
