Aussie Warlord's departure leaves dangerous void
Edwina P. Montague III
As I read the post-mortem celebrations, dedications and tributes for the nearly departed Aussie Warlord, I have to pause in thought. What to think? Shall I be happy, sad, disinterested? I never knew the man but, like many of you, I read his often scathing articles with mild fascination and, dare I say, admiration.
No matter what you may have thought of the man, he participated whole-heartedly in this game and enriched the experience, yes I said enRICHed, with his passion and dogged determination. Some may say that he was merely "flaming", spreading lies, damaging reputations and generally causing chaos. Perhaps. But every Ying needs its Yang, all societies must have some contentious discourse from its margins. He was a necessary part of the democratic machine as his discordant voice kept the eRep hegemony in check.

Hopefully a reincarnation of AW will visit us again. I can already hear the shreiking from above. So be it. Love him or hate him, he served a purpose, a necessary purpose in our process of nation-building. If nothing else, he was a fantastic stirrer and a good read. And really, deep down, you have to admit, he was fun.

Poor Sod.. He'll be missed. 🙁
Sorry....i just don't buy it
Meh I disagree with this, but thats because im the main perpetraitor (is that how its even spelt?).
Yeah, he will be missed. It was fun when he was here 🙂
Concrete thoughts unfortunately served to be his downfall and he drowned wearing concrete boots. If only he could get along with others and convince others with his thoughts rather than his derision.
Suntan, go have a look at the venom that was thrown at those of us who decided to fight (something that is our enshrined right, I might add).
There were people who hoped to convince with thoughts and persuasion; they abandoned hope long ago. AW remained becuase he was stubborn and unmoving - overwise he'd have shaken the dust of this place from his feet and moved on.
I agree Eddy, regardless of the sad deterioration into flaming, AW made a significant contribution to eAustralia....and its nice to see that recognised...besides, as a new citizen I learnt so much watching his and Br0ads slinging matches - before things went to far. It gave me the opportunity to examine both sides and create my own opinions
Thankyou to all who take the time to express and explain a POV...putting your ideas out there is not always easy. We're not all as confident and thick skinned
I believe that many contributed to the debate that he generated that did not involve exchanging insults.
I commended his passion often. Unfortunately true leadership often requires compromise.
Hmm "aussie warlord"
I never knew the guy but his name doesnt induce much hope of a peaceful anything with him
