Aussie Warlord's departure leaves dangerous void

Day 587, 01:40 Published in Australia Australia by Edwina P. Montague III

As I read the post-mortem celebrations, dedications and tributes for the nearly departed Aussie Warlord, I have to pause in thought. What to think? Shall I be happy, sad, disinterested? I never knew the man but, like many of you, I read his often scathing articles with mild fascination and, dare I say, admiration.

No matter what you may have thought of the man, he participated whole-heartedly in this game and enriched the experience, yes I said enRICHed, with his passion and dogged determination. Some may say that he was merely "flaming", spreading lies, damaging reputations and generally causing chaos. Perhaps. But every Ying needs its Yang, all societies must have some contentious discourse from its margins. He was a necessary part of the democratic machine as his discordant voice kept the eRep hegemony in check.

Hopefully a reincarnation of AW will visit us again. I can already hear the shreiking from above. So be it. Love him or hate him, he served a purpose, a necessary purpose in our process of nation-building. If nothing else, he was a fantastic stirrer and a good read. And really, deep down, you have to admit, he was fun.
