Larni’s story time continues in a day or so. This time I actually have something to say
The Eden planes scream across the heavens, her tanks roll across the plains and our soldiers join with brothers in arms to wipe the evil invaders from our lands. It is a day of great pride of our small nation.
We have learnt many lessons over the past week and much blood has spilt, on both on the field of battle and in the field of politics. Many have walked away, not simply leaving but performing a complete song and dance in the process.
As is the Australian way, our bond has overcome these obstacles, we have shed our skin and again unify as a nation. Our ability to persevere, the trials and tribulations, has never concerned me and I did indeed take steps to paint a target on my back by becoming the Devil’s Advocate in certain conversations.
Unlike those with’ standing’ amongst eAus I have none. As a n00b I have the less to lose by voicing the objections and thoughts of the silent masses. The vote and topics I created proves that there is indeed a large split right down the middle.
Did the vote actually accomplish anything? Yes, there was no great indication that our President was reaching beyond his powers and the voices against him softened. They understand now that removing him can only be done through the election process and not by internal bickering and behind the scenes conspiracies.
This brings me to the point of this article, The Elections.
The amount of people putting their hands up disturbs me. Those who, considering the recent events, feel they can do a better job than the present Gov. Even n00bs are putting their names forward...
What we need to understand is this. The Gov has struggled through the abuse and threats of citizens to walk. While at the same time, they have suffered the outrage of people unable to understand why we seemed so helpless. The crowd were baying for blood! And one name was on their lips.
This Government has come through the fire and I believe they are stronger for it. They have held fast to their resolve and despite a few obvious errors, I believe they have worked in our best interest and have gained the knowledge needed to play this game better. They learned how to step up to the plate and mix it with the powerhouses.
They will learn from their mistakes and ‘hopefully’ a process will be put in place to ensure the course of events that lead to our invasion will not happen again.
So how can a n00b compete with this? I understand the ‘want’ of people to stamp their mark on a game but leadership should never be a popularity contest. This is what brought us down this road in the first place...

Yes, I see many sides to every argument. I understand why the Gov needs to stay in power and I see why new blood is needed.
What are you saying woman, be out with it?
Do not believe what you read, election promises are just screams in the wind. You vote for a leader, not a friend. Someone who has a backbone made of steel, someone who is able to stand against the vocal masses and are the first held accountable for their actions.
We need someone who is willing to learn every day and is not too fix in mindset to believe they are owed positions because of their legacy or status amongst the community. Someone who will stand outside the political shit storms, someone beyond reproach with no ‘debts’ to other players or secret societies. A person who encourages the masses. Someone will attempt to get the ‘two click’ members to become more active.
We need leaders who can take our nation to the next level.
People, who are not afraid to make the hard call. It’s easy to press the attack button but it’s not easy to tell the nation that you need to take away their civil liberties to stop the bloodflow. Like declaring martial law to prevent the garbage, ‘I’m leaving so I’m blowing my own fanfare’ posts on the news. These brought our community to the lowest point that I have seen in my short time here. They should have been ‘outlawed’ immediately. A leader must be able to make these decisions.
It may be impossible to enforce that sort of thing, but the people we vote for must be strong enough to try anything when the morale of the nation is at stake.
So what am I trying to say?
In the coming elections we need to think outside the box that I believe eAus has been stuck in for a long time. We need to choose Leaders we trust to follow blindly and not just Legends and friends. Only strong decisive figures can lead our nation into the future.
Who should I vote for then Larni?
In a democracy that is your choice and I will not attempt to sway you one way or another. All I ask is that you put some research into your vote and do not simply believe the articles you see of political propaganda.
Have faith in your decisions eAus. Be smart and our nation will be strong. Our soldiers fight for our freedoms, do not weaken their sacrifice by voting poorly.

Nicely put, and I actually read it all.
I encourage new blood to get involved and hope they will be mentored by the best of those who will be re-elected.
Refreshing the talent pool is always essential.
