A talk with: integer syntax

Day 3,449, 00:35 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

In this edition of "A talk with" I have interviewed former CPresident and former Partypresident of Partiet, integer syntax.

integer has, this night been appointed candidate for NGP, to the next CP-election. I therefore have to point out, this interview was done before the nomination.
Let us now hear about integers thoughts and interests!

NL: Welcome, integer syntax, to this «A talk with»! First of all, I`m curious about your avatar, and name, tell us the story behind…?

integer:
There's not much to the name, I just liked the sounds of the words together.

The avatar is a Roman Emperor. There are a few accounts of his career. All agree on the fact that he held his position for a very short time. One depicts him as a mere opportunist who deserved what he got. Another is that he tried to do the right thing and was killed for it.

NL.And so: who is integer syntax, in real life, not playing eRepublik?

integer:
Nobody special. Just a guy that works and messes around with his hobbies.

- - -

NL: Your main interests outside the eRep world is….?

integer:
They seem to change every several years. Lately, it's been acoustics.

- - -

NL: Acoustics! Sound very interesting, is your interest in this issue seen from a musical angle, or is it from an architectural (sounds and material use in a room)? Or something else?

Integer:
The easiest true answer is “all of the above.” I don't think anything is random. Everything from spoken language to a radio wave from a pulsar has order. This order is fascinating.

Acoustic measures can also give an architectural expression, her from Royal Albert Hall in London!

NL: You have been, for long time, very active in eNorwegian politics, in Partiet specially. But now you are independent from all parties, I see. What`s the reason for that?

integer:
I'd reached the end of my effectiveness with Partiet. I originally took the PP job as a favor to Yanisin to help prevent a PTO. To do the job well, I wanted to grow Partiet to the point where it had enough active members to stand on its own. Now it does, and I don't think there's anything else I can do to help there.

- - -

NL: Will we see you, in future, campaigning again, for instance, a CPresidental position?

integer:
Probably not soon. I don't care much for politics, but I do like winning more than losing in this game. I was CP once because I thought eNorway was headed for a crisis. We were still under threat of PTO, two of our strongest, most active players had left eNorway and our regions were at the mercy of medal hunters due to our TW. That term, we were also the targets of a completely unprovoked AS. We fought that off, established the eNorwegian Development Fund, and got those two players back. The Training War is run much better today than it was back then, but that's nothing to do with me. I wanted to end it as soon as possible, and still do. My term was successful in some ways, but ultimately not enough to change our trajectory. To get involved again, there would have to be a real chance of changing our direction.

- - -

NL: What do you mean with "changing our direction" ?

Integer:
eNorway is not getting stronger at the moment. I know the eworld is losing players overall, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to improve things by getting new players in.

Changing direction....

NL: How to get more engagement in the political module (and economical and military modules too) in eNorway. Any ideas?

integer:
Our engagement continues to drop because the number of active players in eNorway continues to drop. We need new players. If we don't get that, we're going to continue to have dwindling everything.

- - -

NL: Now I will quote you from an internal debate recently:

“We ought to focus our efforts primarily on recruiting and retaining any player that is not a threat. Doing this would be the first step to changing our dynamic”

Could you explain for us, “changing our dynamic”, and what potential, could that eventually give eNorway, in your opinion?

integer:
eNorway has been losing active players for as long as I've been here. Simultaneously, we've been reluctant to accept new players. If this doesn't change, we will always be at the mercy of our enemies as well as our friends, and our revenue, military, politics and community will continue to wither.

If it does change, we will have more revenue, a stronger military, more engaging politics, and a more active community to fuel it all. It would be a virtuous circle.

Strong players are needed....!

NL: Optimistic or pessimistic on behalf of the eRepublik?

integer:
Optimistic. Plato does seem to listen and is willing to change things drastically. It's a mess he's created, but let's not forget that once upon a time the game was very good, and he was responsible for that, too.

- - -

NL: The best film you ever seen? And why?

integer:
I don't watch a lot of movies, but I enjoyed There Will Be Blood. I thought it was well written from start to finish, which is uncommon.

NL: When this day is over, and before you go to sleep this night, you will read…. What?

integer:
Nothing exciting. Probably an article on resonance.

Thank you integer for the interview and for taking your time!
