A Man Lost In An Ocean or A Future Leader of eUSA?
Nohime
A relatively unknown candidate is running for Country President. And while many dismiss him others have considered him to be just like any other one of us penguins in this game who are marching around trying to get things done. SAR97 is no different. He just happens to have a different talent and way of looking at life.
Today we have him with us for an interview! Let’s get right to it. There has been some concern about your qualifications, or ‘lack thereof’, and we should let the citizens know what you exactly plan to do when faced with particular situations our country could face.
Currently, we have an unspoken NAP (Non-Aggression Pact) with Serbia. Maybe it can be better viewed as an unofficial ceasefire. Either way, its cleverly disguised behind an actual NAP with Asterian nations. If Greece and Argentina suddenly went to war over the regions in Nigeria, and both Greece and Argentina asked for the USAF’s direct military assistance, what would you say and how would you handle this request?
A: Well I would tell them their requests has been looked over and will be put on the priorities, but at the bottom of the list.
Our alliance is strong. If Mexico asked to join Pacifica what would you say?
A: Well, that would be somewhat complicated. They been fairly unstable and hasn’t been able hold their own. Start taking steps to stabilize your government and then come back. Unless Russia thinks we should admit them immediately, then I would go with their option. But if they say no; never. We would have to talk about it.
If one of our allies requested assistance in battle what are the most common and/or appropriate ways to go about fulfilling this request?
A: I would request the militia to fulfill it and if they said no, I would send small amount of USAF troops.
Describe what an Air Strike is and how it happens.
A: That is when a country that is not bordering you attacks or you attack them. So, say we get mad at a middle east country and want attack them. We don’t have a border with them so we would have to use government resource to pay the game to allow us to do it.
If eUSA is in a conflict and needs money for CO’s (Combat Orders) to protect itself, how will you get money?
A: Would use some from the reserves, arm america fund, and if still not enough ask USAF if they have any extra that they can spare.
As they currently stand, what are the differences between the following ORGs: Department of Education, Department of Interior and White House Press Release?
A: Department of Education = Teaching new people how to play the game.
Department of Interior = Resource and handouts to players, manly new players.
White House Press Release = Gives frequent updates on the government.
It appears you know a lot about eUSA and how most things operate. Why did you not build your political career by starting in Congress at least?
A: Congress, I first ran and was too young so I was put at the bottom of the list and never elected. That happen twice, then I almost was going get spot in fed congress but right before sign up time I went back to black sheep and the new law came out about congress and they said I had to get approval to run and I was never giving approval.
Thanks for your honesty. I’ve been wondering what do your name and avatar mean?
SAR97 is Search and Rescue and my birth year. Penguins are just my favorite animal.
Sounds like you have had many roadblocks in your entire erepublik career. Why should people still give you a chance to lead eUSA?
Because they never slowed me down and that I just continue with my plan no matter what people thought of me.

Nicely Done Article and Good Luck SAR
Thanks
First, voted for the penguin (my second favorite animal).
Second, SAR's main disadvantage in this game isn't a lack of knowledge. SAR's weakness is how easily being dyslexic can be twisted to imply a lack of knowledge or ability. The best thing for him to do is to accept that as a disadvantage of the hand he's been dealt and make proper accommodations (like having a friend who genuinely cares help proofread most of his stuff). Whether it's right or wrong, this is the internet, and people will judge you based on your ability to communicate in text. It's a fact of life.
Beyond that, SAR would do well to branch out and do some networking. What he needs to do is make more influential friends in other parties, and once people get to understand him better, the opportunities should flow from there. Once he gains some experience working within the established system, he'll start being taken more seriously as a candidate.
Putting that aside, I think one of the reasons a lot of folks don't take SAR seriously is that he's sort of the rogue dreamer-type. He has a penchant for attempting to bring forth and push through his ideas independently while seemingly disregarding the existing programs and infrastructure. One thing about this is that people tend to see that as change for the sake of change, and I think some of the older players are a bit insulted by that, as they take it as an implication the SAR believes his way of doing things is more often than not better than the status quo, and really, for all the problems we do have (and they are many), over the years, a lot of good people have done a lot of good work to build what we have. I think SAR would do well to expand his knowledge of that and to show some reverence for the giants whose shoulders he now stands on.
Either way, SAR, I hope you don't take this as me criticizing you for no reason. In all honesty, I would really like to see you become a viable candidate and a future leader. The post above is only a fraction of what's been bubbling in my head lately about how you could get to that point.
Its a good summary RG. Most people have taken the easy route and just tell him he's 'inexperienced and doesn't know anything' so there are very few who will give him the time of day.
I agree. I have always liked SAR. He is a good guy. I used to talk to him all the time on IRC. I was even on his radio show once. Networking will help him. I never set out to be CP when I started building friendship a year and half ago. But those friendships have led to knowledge I needed to make this run, and an appreciative number of endorsement articles.
I agree strongly with everything said. I'm not sure what to really add to the comment honestly.
With proof reading, if I’m elected. Wooky will proof read all my articles and I have someone just come up to me in the last few days wanting be my proof reader and I said ok.
I’ve been breaching out, tight now I got friends in BSP, Feds, USWP, WTP, and SFP.
I don’t take it as insult, you just voicing what you think and I greatly appreciate it.
This is an overly sympathetic analysis, RG. I would point by point it, but then I'm sure it would turn into me being the devil for not wanting a twelve year old in charge of anything.
I’m not 12.
Could have fooled me.
This is probably true, but I don't think I'm that far off.
FWIW, I also agree with Rahl's post on the forums that SAR misplayed his cards by immediately going for CP in what is basically a communications game. Given his situation, it's basically like putting himself up for the firing squad, and the reaction of most folks has beem reasonable given their knowledge of the situation (if not a bit callous).
Anyway, I'm sure you know fairly well, Pfeiffer, that I usually agree with your intent in most discussions. I just choose to play in a nicer, less cynical way.
Great article.
Good luck SAR97
Thanks

Yea, let`s push a clone forward.
You want to justify that and provide real evidence? Or is that just a remark designed to try and undermine him?
Nah, I`m good.
Good luck!
Thanks!
