USMC Announcement
There comes a time when diplomacy has failed, when some things become more important. Ideals like fighting for your country, your beliefs, and your right to live and prosper within that country are all goals that can be achieved by joining the Military. A soldier joins the Military to fight for those causes, while relinquishing some of his or her rights in the process.
The senior officers of the eUS Marines are going to bring it to public attention that the Joint Chiefs of Staff made the decision to relinquish control of the eUS Military from the government, (the same government in which it was obliged to follow), with absolutely no warning or consultation from the other branches, or its respective senior officers. The officers and soldiers of the eUS Marines were caught completely unprepared by the recent change in structure. An elite branch like the Marines cannot operate isolated from the federal government.
Recently, the leaders of the eUSMC met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff to:
1. Remind the JCS that everyone joined the Military to be an official part of a government sanctioned force, regardless of who is in charge. Our loyalties reside with the eUS.
2. Remind the JCS that having the military and its soldiers be non-political is a good path, but this can only be achieved if the leadership handles the politics so regular soldiers don’t have to.
3. Ask the JCS to reconsider and work with the Executive and Congress to become recognized once again, effective immediately.
Once those attempts failed, the eUS Marines Senior Officers decided it would be best to work with the Executive and Congress in order to fulfill our nation’s needs and goals. The eUS Marines will:
1. Focus on doing everything correctly in order to comply with the government.
2. Work with all members of the eUS and international community in order to stay the premier military unit in terms of strength and activity.
3. Work with other branches that feel the need to rejoin the government in order to fulfill their requirements to the eUS, and to their members.
4. Continue to respect all soldiers and officers fighting for our country, whether they are in the recognized military, militia, or regular citizen soldiers. We are all on the same side.
With this statement, the eUS Marine Senior Officers are bringing themselves back under government authority, effective immediately. The soldiers have to decide whether they want to leave or stay, the decision is theirs. We hope you do, because together we are stronger and can continue on as Marines.

They never left, just like many in the military, I'm sure many were caught by surprise with all of the recent changes. Good to see this though.

Agreed, good decision, for NOW anyway. The WAR vs Spain which was not looking good has been turned around some. We have stopped them and gained momentum toward regaining ground and some. However, while this move has worked now and allowed the Military to act faster and be more organized as far as attacking and defense. We have to make sure that this was not a one time deal, and the Military is not led in the wrong direction or starts to work politics as it's own type of government. The Military and the countries leaders need to work more closely then ever. Especially when some of those elected are not as social and less known in the game.
The unity of the government and military must work together, and we must not let that wear thin.

Kudos to the Marines for putting country first and doing the right thing. Let's not let BS from senior level leadership (on either side) stand in the way of making as effective a fighting force as possible.

I'm not even going to start on the grammatical errors in this article. I guess it's hard to write when you're upset.
But I wish the Marine Corps luck in taking on the sole Official responsibility of defending the United States.
Don't get me wrong. The Army, after all we've done to protect and serve this country, has basically been declared an outlaw organization by the president and congress.
But we will still fight to defend the United States-- whether that's acknowledged or not.
Community before self. That's the key to the game. Bravo, guys. Well done.

I don't think Congress has sees the army as "outlaw," its just the army has decided it doesn't want to be part of the government and that it wants to keep the property. It doesn't seem like the majority of congress will harbor a grudge if the property is returned and the JCS doesn't claim to be the official military of the government. (actually I think Congress could be persuaded to let most of the property go if the JCS gives back specific property deemed crucial and stops claiming to be official).
Well thats the thoughts of an outsider. Take it as you will.

No one with a sound mind has declared the JCS's paramilitary group as outlaws. No one cares that the JCS would rather operate as a militia, from my view. I completely understand and respect the decision, and actually think that, with the way they like to operate, it's all for the better.
In regards to the statements here about the Marines' inability to operate without funding, that seems to go against what I was told by the JCS, and I'll have to look into that.
I am glad to see compromise. I am mixed on the ability of a single branch to operate outside of its chain of command, and hope this is a step towards future resolution.
