[UK Reform] UKRP-PCP-WRP tag team for congress!

Day 2,073, 10:42 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Thomas765

Hey guys!

Tomorrow is one of the three designated game election days and as we do every month, we have a long range of candidates for the congressional elections. Usually we just run by ourselves but this month we'll be joined by the People's Communist Party and the Workers Rights Party, each of whom have sent candidates.

This came to fruition as a result of the party alliance that formed between the UKRP and four other UK parties, which is provisionally known as the Political Freedom League. Here is the explanation I gave to the members of the group:

This is basically a formal alliance between five parties - Every Single One (ESO), People's Communist Party (PCP), United Kingdom Progression Party (UKPP), United Kingdom Reform Party (UKRP) and the Workers Rights Party (WRP) - that was agreed upon by our own members over the course of the last week.

To give a bit of background behind it, the party alliance or a third party approach in politics was the brainchild of the current PP, Ayame Crocodile. It started to escalate into a plan after I discussed with him the idea of improving the relations between UKRP and PCP before I was elected as PP of the UKRP as I wanted to implement it into my policies and wanted to see if it was possible. Each of the party presidents were willing to cooperate to form an alliance of similarly sized and similarly powerful parties that would work together for a variety of causes, including granting our lower membership members congress and working towards a CP candidate we can all agree on.

UK Reform Party Congressmen

Sir Humphrey Appleby
Appleby is positioned at number one within the party. He is running for speaker of the house of commons/parliament/congress and was able to convince the party leadership that he would be actively involved in congressional affairs in the following month.

Henry Pfeiffer Arundel
He is undoubtedly one of the party's most active members, having contributed in most, if not all of the discussions opened up in congress and within the party. For this reason, he has been placed at the number two spot.

iGuy
Having recently returned to the game, bursting with activity, iGuy has been a regular fixture on both IRC and the forums, contributing to discussions and having ideas of his own. He still has a bit to learn but I think he'd make a fantastic congressman.

Dnouser
While our time zones often limit us from speaking to each other directly - at inconvenient times - he does have a great presence within the party, so he's been selected for fourth place.

Schmidt Bogdan
The Minister of Defence of the UK has proven his activity this month in government channels and has been working hard since his arrival in the UK three months ago, taking up the position of de facto MoD last month while the MoD team weren't around fully all the time.

Cygnus X1 - at position 8.
He is the current vice president of both the country and the party but as a result of us running other candidates from other parties, Cyg has been pushed down to eighth. Let's see if we can get him and all other party candidates into congress!
