[UK] Brexit?

As some of you may have noticed, I have proposed a withdrawal from Orion. This was always my intent, and I would have put this to the vote earlier were it not for our current situation. Since I have already received some criticism for this, allow me to explain my reasoning.
Having sat in Alliance meetings for the past three months, I have become increasingly jaded and dissatisfied with how things have been going. It has appeared to be little more than a social club with certain parties having no particular interest in doing anything other than remaining neutral and, from my point of view, offering nothing that selected MPPs cannot offer.
48 Hours
One vocal critic has complained in Congress that the 48 hours I allowed before proposing the law wasn't long enough to debate. I disagree. Congress is elected to hold Government to account, or to support it's decisions. That is why they are given shiny buttons. If we were to endlessly debate decisions, or wait to come to a consensus in Congress, it is highly unlikely that anything would ever get done since certain quarters would still be debating it months down the line.
Brexit?
Those few who actually take the time to talk to me and get to know me would already know of my misgivings regarding Orion. Most who have talked to me share my sentiments, to some level at least. I'm not expecting everyone to agree. Nor am I expecting a landslide Congress vote in favour or against leaving. I leave it to your elected representatives in Congress to make the decision as befits their conscience.
Ireland
Ireland has now made their way safely to France. There is a deal to release the remainder of Irish-held regions in place. Keep an eye on the National Feed for more details.
USA and Colombia
I have put forward a proposal for the release of occupied regions and suggested paths for training wars with both Colombia and the US to continue at least until the end of my term. I am currently awaiting a response, and further details will appear on the National Feed as and when.

It was more the other way around. We dragged Orion in the fight with Latvia. Also I think their are enough articles around showing the strength of every country so if you add up Orion and put t against Latvia and then add up USA/Colombia what do you think Orion could have done?

Did UK arrange attack on Latvia with Orion? Or did you go charging in with no plan, no coordination and no f--king clue what you're doing? If the latter, don't throw a tantrum that things then haven't gone your way.
You are assuming this has something to do with the Latvian debacle, you are assuming incorrect. it was always this Governments intentions to give the eUK a say on whether we should continue being a member of a non-alliance such as Orion or breakaway and do our own thing.
All right; if you need help keeping the queue of alliances lining up to recruit you orderly, let me know.

Good decision I think. I would suggest you to go further, forget about your current friends and try to build relations with Pacifica instead. That way you can avoid these attacks in the future.

Because that worked so well in the past, and totally wouldn't create a whole lot of hatred for the United Kingdom just like it did in the past. 🙂
I don't know how it worked in the past, but the current situation obviously doesn't work for UK. If they have friends in Pacifica, US won't be able to attack them (although they won't be able to NE Latvia either).
No matter what side eUK finds itself on we will always be at risk of a wipe. It goes with the shit tier territory we find ourselves in nowadays. Those that think this is a knee jerk reaction to Orions reaction regarding out NE of Latvia need to get up to speed on the eUK. This has been discussed inside our community at various points for the past 10 months or so...
The eSwedes are cool we will always have a soft spot for Poland and and we like WildOwl. That is as far as relations with Pacifica go. Our intentions are not to leave the Serbian sphere of influence only to leave a non functioning alliance called Orion.
But than what is the difference?
Serbian sphere of influence is a term I really tend to dislike. As we haven't really asked anything of the UK since you guys decided you were again buddies with us.
And I personally consider this idea a retarded brainchild of people behind the greatest idea ever of Sirius. Simple as that.

It may not be the correct term, but people reading it will understand what I mean by it. The Serbs don't need to ask anything of us in order to have their forig policy rub off on to us. RL Serbs make up a good portion of eUK's forigs, our past shared history, friendship and whatnot will always have an influencing part to play. But thats not to say that the Serbs are our masters and we dance to their tune.
I would say it became more prevalant during the Sirius days, but i wouldn't say it was the brainchild of those days. The term was being banded around the eUK back in the ONE days. The Serb Sphere, the Polish Sphere, we knew what was meant by that.
If you prefer Pacifica to Asteria after all that's happened then you deserve everything that comes your way.
Of course every normal people prefer Pacifica 🙂

since you got into the alliance i had spent hundreds of bars fighting for you..i fought with you during the ASs even when i knew we couldnt stop them...i have lost a lot of argentinian friends because of fighting for you,
and now i see it was all a waste of time and energy..thank you guys, next time i know who i will not help...and i'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks like this
Since before we even joined the alliance many eukers fought for and alongside Cubans and I expect that if we leave eukers will still fight alongside you. If being apart of your alliance is the only way to get your damage then it's not friendship we share but obligations...
eUK was not apart of Orion when we stood up to the plate to free France from the Argies, we did it.because friends jump in ti help other friends even if you are gonna take a beating (like the eBe/eLV fiasco)

It's not about people not appreciating tanks showing up to fight for us. Any beef I personally have with Orion is entirely to do with the management, and I think it's the same with most other anti-Orion eUKers.
Simple matter of fact is that most of us here in eUK do not feel like we belong to Orion. There has been little to no sense of belonging being fostered between countries.
Even though we were tiny in TWO, we still felt like we belonged, we even had bromances with ACT. Most of us felt like we had a home in ONE, yet after what, 10 months of Orion, I still couldn't name all the countries let alone who the main leaders are apart from janty...

48 hours of discussion not enough for a law proposal? Swear it used to be 24 for discussion, 24 for vote back when we had constitutional dictatorship. If they can't say something in 48 hours they're just useless. Given that apparently they barely said anything during the 48 hours I can't imagine extra time would've done much anyway.
