In this browser game, we assume the role of 'Citizen of eRepublik' just as in any paper and pencil RPG. In eRepublik as in any RPG, your 'job' is to live a life by finding a job, maybe joining a Military Unit and possibly joining a Political Party. I would say and or speculate on the Market but yeah, no. During a movie an actor never breaks character, some method actors like Daniel Day-Lewis never break character during the entire time of shooting a movie. Mechanical players need to embrace the fact that when you play this game you are more or less an actor. You are no longer Joe Blow from the hood, you are -in my case- Franklin Stone.

Now for me staying in 'character' is easy because my 'character' is simply me, I am who I am; what you see is what you get. Each of us has an Avatar that citizens will essential see as our character in the 'narrative' of eRepublik, however, I do not play a character, I am a blunt in your face advocate of open and transparent government in the real world just as I am here. Some pretend to be Patriots while behind the scene in the cloakrooms of Congress they do everything they can to enslave America, I have always been open and transparent in my belief that America -the beacon of freedom- should not be ruled by a Dictator.

Over on the eUSA Forum those in power scream and yell that role playing eRepublik is stupid. They do this while they role-play that some citizens deserve Censoring and that some other citizens deserve to be Blacklisted, both are 'mechanics' which do not exist in eRepublik and are role played on those forums. The meta-government uses role playing to deny citizens who have been elected by game mechanics to Congress the ability to speak out against the Ruling Elite. America once fought a Political War to keep Ronald 'Gimper' Reagan from controlling Congress and by extension America, only to have a select group of citizens, who I consider traitors, take control of Congress through the 'Dictator Law', overthrowing not only Congress but by extension America.

That same clique of citizens remains in power by pointing fingers at and labeling any Citizen or any military unit who attempts to use that same mechanic to remove them from power as traitors. They remain in power by belittling and attacking those who would use 'mechanics', the same mechanic they used to take control, to remove them from power. That is role-playing at its best, a group led by a citizen who defected to the enemy during a war for personal profit, who then fought against American Armed Forces in core regions for a country who in the end threw his ass out; helping to wipe America for the first time in our history. Then after committing crimes against America that has kept others from returning home and using his backdoor buddies pushed his citizenship through via the dark cloakrooms of Congress.

Currently, IMHO, America is being led by a traitor and his clique of friends who use role playing to remain in power. They use mechanics to control Congress and deny others the right to use that same mechanic to rid themselves of a Tyrannical Congress who bullies and belittles, who censures or blacklist any citizen who speaks out against them; they use sexism and racism to remain in power. As I see it until a group of Americans are willing to suffer the slings and arrows of these traitors to Freedom and use the very mechanic they used to gain power against them America will continue to be controlled by a Tyrannical Congress. A Congress whose Foreign Affairs of appeasement through Wild Owl has brought Peace to a war game?
