Wow Elynea that's a pretty low blow from you there: implying that Mitch is racist because you're not in his list of Belgians, saying that that could be because you're Walloon.

Maybe you should take into account the fact that you have never played as a citizen of the Union (for as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore he doesn't include you in that list, that's just mentioning a few of the important Belgian politicians that the Union had. And most of those actually were Walloon themselves.

As far as I know, Apotygma stayed in eUK to pursue a political carrier there, while helping eBelgium out on our national forum. Olv007 has been president for one (and a half) term. Kravenn also stayed in eUK (his post above). I don't remember seeing Dylan Verstraete in eBelgium for the last two months or so, and ThomasRED was a special case, in which I won't go on with more detail here. It seems you're using seriously outdated intel here, but presenting it as something fresh.

The Americans you listed (and whom you try to discredit in a very unelegant manner) have proven their trustworthiness and genuine commitment for our nation - every eBelgian (whichever nationality he might have in RL) who visits our national forum will agree on that in a heartbeat.

And the way you present Ragoth's opinion on letting the Croatians pass, seems almost to imply that he invited them or was keen on seeing them use us as a land bridge. Nothing is farther from the truth - his reaction should be seen in the context of the real threat of having eCroatia at our borders at that time, and when they contacted the eBelgian government they proposed a reparation fee for going through our territory, implying that they would go through regardless of what our decission would be. Having the example of eAustria in mind, Ragoth defended the most pragmatical decission, and I must say many eBelgians (many of them also RL Belgians) agreed with him.

I must say your whole representation can hardly be even called subjective - it is straightforward manipulation of facts and blatant disinformation, trying to put eBelgium and its governement in a bad light. Totally undiplomatic and just dishonest.

Alright I think everyone is taking this a little bit too far. Our president is entitled to his own opinion whether people agree with that or not. I think he has a right to be skeptical especially when there are so many Americans in KEY positions of the cabinet. Whether Belgians trust these people or not does not change the fact that there are no RL Belgians in these positions. Isn't that just a bit odd? How can real life Belgians settle for this? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation. I think many of the Belgians are forgetting the kind hospitality we gave them in our country not so long ago. Remember this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it as is Mitch. Dictator 1 - The Rest 0.

No one denied anyone the right on personal opinion, but this doesn't mean that every opinion is right (not if it diverges with facts). The opinion stated in Mitch's article diverge so strongly from facts, that I for one start to doubt whether he really believes the things he says, or he just wants less informed citizens to believe those things to serve his personal goals.

RL citizenship and eRepublik citizenship issue - it's been discussed so oftenly, and in my opinion it's just so obvious, that it really surprizes me that this issue keeps coming up. This is a game, in which you can be almost whatever you want, even North-Korean 😛 I think that says enough 😉

About the Americans in key positions - when the citizens voted for Ragoth, they voted for his cabinet. Congress can vote a motion of distrust against anyone who might seem not suited for the position. I know how Ragoth chose this cabinet - by asking active people whether they would want to dedicate their time and energy for a governement position or not, and aparently few RL eBelgians would, while some RL Americans did agree. I was MoHA under Elynea, but I couldn't go for a second term in this position and not neglect my studies (it really is a lot of work), and I am sincerely glad Gibberish45 agreed to follow me up - I know he's a great guy, very active and full of creative ideas, and I don't care if he's RL American, Mexican, Dutch or my next door neighbour in Ghent, as long as he fullfills his duties correctly. And I know he will.

And a final remark - on eDutch hospitality. It were fun and merry times and all that, I don't question that, but that was almost half a year ago, which in eRep terms isn't "not so long ago" anymore. A good host understands when it's time to leave for his guest, by the way, and he doesn't keep reminding about his hospitality every time they meet afterwards. But that's just my opinion 😛

+1 on Aldous Zamiatin's post; a post of a REAL Belgian, trying to shed some light on the situation from eBE side, without attacking anybody, and phrasing how many Belgians (as far as I can see on the eBelgian forum) think about the situation.

In my opinion, we should more actively listen to and talk with people like him.

Furthermore, I can see no prove of Ragoth and Gibberish wanting anything bad for eBE, only good things. (I have seen less posts of Stilpo and Kylero, so I won't judge about them, but I'm sure Ragoth has selected them for valid reasons too.)
