Hello eBelgians,
As you could have guessed from my previous article I am running for president yet again. This will be my seventh term as president of eBelgium and my tenth presidential medal. I need to keep ahead of MCKitkat who has been president six terms now from Belgium.
But seriously Belgium is ran by a few people that include me, MCKitkat, Franckie18 and
Icurlybear who even care enough about this country enough to keep it running and are president in turns. You could call it an Oligarchy, the country is run by a few but who else would do it? What would happen if we did not? There is the "opposition" but I do not see them running the country really.
I would like to explain the title of this article "Let's make eBelgium at least (somewhat) mediocre again", I could have written let's make eBelgium great again but that would suggest eBelgium was once great and it really never was. Although it had it's good days back in its heydays but even then it was never great. The title would also suggest I could make eBelgium great again which is realistically impossible for a country as Belgium especially in the state that the game is in now with its rapid decline. What I can do is make it as good as it can be under the current circumstances. The last couple of months has mostly been steady as it goes I hope to make some course corrections.
I could write a long article describing for all Ministries what they will do next month, it will be mostly bullshit bingo and really not many people do care that much anymore anyway so it would be a waste of time writing it and for people to be even reading it. I do want to give me points for things I would like to do this upcoming term(s?). I do have some plans, some things I want to implement and some things I want to change. I am hoping for the cooperation of the people to implement my plans and make the chances I want to make.
Military Units & Commune
eBelgium currently has (at least) seven military units, we are too fragmented there are too many military units for a country this size. eBelgium does not need so many military units, we need to work together instead of everybody having their own military unit. I know it's in people's nature, especially on the internet everybody wants their own this and their own that while working together is better for the country. I would like to unite Military Units as much as possible. I know that some military units won't be interested especially those under control of the "opposition" but I would still like to give it a try.
A good military unit would also need a commune, the how and what is not set in stone as I want to inform what other military units do for commune and the choices their soldiers have. My idea for people who work in the commune can choose for either for weapons (tanks for aircraft's) or money. I don't want to make it too complicated with too many choices because that will just overcomplicate things. I want to start with people in the military unit but if it works and we have tweaked it and when we have a stable system I would open it to all eBelgian players. Like I said details how and what will be ironed out during my term I am not going to make any comments about that now.
Forums
The forum has been a hot topic the last couple of years. There have been accusations of people being banned that were almost always false. The forum was open to everybody but not everybody wanted to join the forum, could join or people were just too lazy. The forum has been on a decline for a long time and last year has mostly been a ghost town where not much has been happening. Especially "the opposition" has been loud in their opposition for the forum but mostly for false reasons. But seeing the forum isn't working out and nobody is visiting it anymore we should at least look into other options. All other options have their up and downsides. The most popular option is using in-game PM but that leaves out people due to game mechanics only allowing 30 people in a PM. To keep things going we do need an alternative for the forums.
Law Reform
I know this is not the decision of the executive branch and the president but congress has to do this I would like to make this a priority. Congress has been inactive, to say the least, I would like to push them to do a bit law reform and do a big overhaul of all laws. A lot of laws are old and do not apply anymore especially with all the changes in game mechanics. Most of the laws should be scrapped and most of the constitution can also be removed.

If I interpret your article my way; it will read like this:
The same group of the people; who calls themselves "Oligarchy" rules eBelgium.
Their only purpose is to stay on the power as long as possible and gather as many as possible CP medals and mandates.
"The Opposition" exists exists, but is too lazy and non-active.
There are too many MU's in eBelgium, there should be as little as possible so you people can control it as well.
MU's under the control of the Opposition exist also, but they are out of your reach and the control.
We should all join "the Commune" (this sounds very Communist-autocratic-Stalinist imagined).
"The Money" is the key problem here, I can tell you.
"The Forum" is outdated way of the communication and as is not the integral part of the game.

You should seriously consider to step down and let other people organize and run things differently. otherwise there won't be change, not now and not never. If not for nothing else, but for the reason of equality.

2 separate sentences about 2 different subjects, and you combine them as : the opposition is too lazy and inactive?
you were interpreting the article, and you made a comment about each point, so I assumed that comment was yours to begin with.
and the others are by definition the opposition in this situation, I have no reason to believe there are more then 2 groups in the political scene at this moment
As sad as it sounds, yes we have been "controlling" the government for a bunch of months because nobody even bothers to do anything. I have not seen any activity from any person in here except from the 4 guys mentioned by Fhae. Since September, we made new allies, co-founded an alliance, have been leading said alliance for several months, successfully managed to get good resources despite nobody here caring. We have increased our tax income and improved our relations with NL. 4 people did all that while everyone else did absolutely nothing, no comments, no media article no nothing suggesting changes, proposing ideas. Yes, we might not be that communicative in the media, we usually do stuff via IRC. I will gladly step down as CP or politician if anyone else runs with vital ideas and propositions and will help Belgium, but since those have been non-existant, I guess I have no other choice than to continue to do my job.
On the MU topic, it is about making sure we fight as a cohesive Unit where everyone can easily see the orders, but considering most damage is done by very few people, I couldn't care less about the amount of MU's and would support a state supported Mobile Unit with our strongest and most active fighters to help our allies, but that is just me.
On Money, we have not used any money other than to pay for MPP's. This month we made around 40k cc, which went into 3 MPP's (South Korea, UK, MKD, with one still pending). We have kept no money behind for anything. We have around 200k in reserves for emergency situations where we need it, The rest of the income is added to the reserves to slowly fill them up so that we can maybe one day try and use the money to give it back to the people in the form of supplies or more MPP's.
About the Forums and the Law Reform, we have been working on sth but it is still very much in early alpha stage, lots of ideas thrown around but once we have sth concrete you'll know soon enough.

If you want a country that works, then do something that makes it work.
So far you have done the opposite. You point fingers, blame others and talk dirt... but i have seen nothing from you that would make the country work again.
