What does the Maverick Pack imply?

Day 3,206, 01:29 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Redi Jodikku

Good morning dear readers,

Today I want to talk about the Maverick Pack. I will give you my opinion and luckily enough foster a bit of debate on it since this game seems a bit “quiet”, to say the least, lately. As i have just said, I don’t pretend to make it a mathematical analysis with a lot of statements, it’s just an opinion. I’d love to hear yours’.

We had it for 2 months now, and seeing the amount of players who have it I would not bet that it will be gone soon. They said it was going to help new players without harming older ones. I don’t see how it helps any new players. What this pack does is plainly increase the pool of bullies in lower divisions. For quite a long time already we have had the IK players, players with strength and max-hit of a D4 player but in a lower division because they avoided fighting without it for a long. Now we just added to those guys the strong D4 guys with a lot of money or willingness to spend RL money in the game. This certainly contributes to balance the divisions, in a sense that now lower divisions are less under crowded, which does not imply that this is something good for new players, at all. You won’t probably solve the problem with young players with a pack…

Epic in D3 this Tuesday, and this happens

As you see in this picture, there are at least 250 euros invested in the Maverick Pack. You will agree that this is a really small representation of the reality. So, Plato is making good money with that pack.

I’ve read a few times already that IK players are not buying that pack anymore. I don’t think this makes any sense. Maybe some of those who already struggled getting the money of the investment back might think it twice, but those who earned a lot of money and e-bars should not worry at all. As said, this change is not that big, it just increases a bit competition, but let’s be real, competition was extremely low in lower divisions. There were literally 10-15 guys per division taking all the BHs.

I have to admit I have not done a lot of research on it, but from what I’ve seen, most D4 players only switch divisions to hunt an EPIC battle or when a battle is specially important for them. I don’t see them switching all the time to hunt little’s BHs. Some do, ofc, but it’s not the majority of them. Then, what would I do if I was a lower div?

Lower divs should fight as a group when they see a tank from a higher division change division to chase a BH. With fighting as a group I mean that any lower division player should fight hard to not let him take an easy BH. I don’t mean you should burn 400 e-bars, but make him think twice trying it again. After that make it public, with a shout for example. You need higher division players to know it’s not profitable for them to get BHs in lower division. In this way, with time, you will teach them that they should only buy the MP if they want to chase epics or to help the country in lower divs, not for BHs.

Conclusion, the Maverick Pack will probably stay with us for a while, so adapt to it. If you are a low experience tank make sure to teach others how you expect them to behave and don’t worry about the IK, it will still be profitable for you, and if you are an EPIC more than a BH guy, it will help you a hell of a lot. Don’t worry much about changing division, since you only need to replace the investment you used to do in the IK with the investment in the MP.

Stay safe and think different.
