Hi Kids!

Today we're going to first take a look back and then have a peek into the future. It's good that we take a glance over the shoulder to gain perspective on the present and what lies ahead. So let's see where the United Independents Party has come from.



The Genesis



In the beginning, Admins wrote the code for eRepublik and they thought it was good. Good enough to attract players that might enjoy their handiwork and create a New World. Out of the mist that was beta, an organization was born, the GameFAQs Party.

In June 2008 the United Constitutionalists Party came from that early group. Justinious McWalburgson III, then PP, was the innovator of a policy that all were welcome. The core of their belief was a constitutional form of government, an independent and free political environment. Many notable leaders of those early times came from the ranks of the UCP.



The Exodus

On February 5th, 2009 the United Independents Party came out of the old UCP and have been searching for a homeland, so to speak, ever since. Several strong leaders kept the party going through their travails.

Through the skills of PP PrincessMedyPi, the UIP achieved their top five status. The party was on a roll now, it looked as if nothing could stop them. Thus began the glory days of the party. Currently, PrincessMedyPi is UIP'ing with a vengeance, some people never give up!

April 16th, 2009 is remembered as the day PP Ansen began to change history. Serving three consecutive terms, he managed to help eleven Congressmen be elected during his first term. When last seen, Ansen was living in Sweden. Rumor has it that he has passed on, but you never know about these things for sure. People have a way of turning up in eRepublik.



The Dark Ages



WW III happened, all of the eUSA grappled for any advantage they could find. All were focused on one thing, survival. The country bounced back, the UIP did not. With membership failing, the party dropped out of the top five. For almost a year UIP floundered. A PTO attempt brought about an influx of new members. Because of hard working PP's tepwnzor, Kazeal and Chris Shnitzel, the party regained it's top five status. Of course, the efforts of many achieved this remarkable feat, but sadly space does not permit mentioning them all.



Present Day



Though having a colorful past, the UIP falls into a slack time. They are the brunt of many jokes because of their 'lack of seriousness' and 'fun loving ways'. During December 2010, after much debate on a new direction for the party, Athanaric retains the title of Party President and takes the UIP on a rough ride. In an attempt to 'shake things up' a bit, several changes were made in the partys operation. The last days of Athanarics Presidency are chaotic and members are in disarray. Athanaric leaves the party to follow his ambitions elsewhere. Confused and distressed the party elects Pheno Sony as PP in January 2011. Privately, concerns are expressed that the UIP may fall from it's top five slot. The story may have ended there, but instead this is where it gets good!



In February, Athanaric returns, and without annoucing his intentions, registers to run for PP in game. The UIP constitution states that PP elections are decided in the forum primary. All hell breaks loose and no less than five UIP members register to run in game. Despite pleas to the contrary, the primary is ignored. ssomo is supposed to be the winner, but tempers flair and the race is on! In the midst of the battle, the USWP believes a PTO attempt is being made and ask their members to vote in the UIP election. The internal struggle is explained to USWP leadership and they reverse their decision before any harm is done. In the end ssomo is elected PP and all is well.

With egos bruised and nerves raw, UIP members make two important discoveries when reviewing this struggle. First, though it was an ugly thing and despite the words spoken in anger, they still care about each other. No thinly veiled apologies. No excuses given. Still yet some hurt and pain, but the sense of family remained. Secondly, they discovered that, in the fray of the fight, the level of motivation and determination had went off the charts. The UIP boards were ablaze. IRC debates went on for hours. And best of all, new recruitment methods had been developed that baffled the other parties. The old time UIP is back!



Not the End Zone



The UIP had managed to gain the number three party spot this month. It has since fell back to number four as the inci party South Carolina Ulku Ocaklari moves on up and S.E.E.S. moves out of the top five. Not satisfied to rest on their laurels, the plucky UIP'ers have determined to harness the enthusiasm kindled by the recent fur ball. Several projects are under way, as we speak, to propel the UIP into the forefront of national leadership once more. When asked to comment on the upcoming change of direction for the UIP, PP ssomo had this to say:






The Saga Continues

With the party intact and stronger than ever, the confident UIP'ers gear up for the Congressional elections on the 25th. If things continue to go their way, the POTUS may be wearing a UIP lapel pin sometime soon.
