The Red Decade: The monopolist danger

Dear Comrades,

Our country is in danger! Our government lied to us about the training wars. Training wars (TW's for short) are very expensive for our county. But why would we fight in an expansive training war? Is it to help our new citizens to gain in rank? Is it to help the poor to make money in battle? No!

I will explain to you the true reasons behind the pressure for more TW's! First of all TW's are used by our government to increase the prices of food and weapons. If we are at war, we will need food and weapons to fight on the battlefield, this increases the demand for those goods, which increases the prices. Who will profit from the increasing prices? Exactly, the monopolists!

Secondly we see that the monopolists do not only profit from higher prices, they also profit from fighting in the TW's! Did you all notice that it is the monopolists who are fighting in all divisions at the same time, hunting for Battle Hero medals and Sky Hero medals? They do so much damage that our younger players do not have a chance to get one of those medals themselves. Some of the monopolists gain hundreds of gold a week, just by highjacking the battles with their massive damage.

Lastly we see that the monopolists also have a monopoly on political power in our country. We see that the monopolists hold key functions in our government and also in congress. The monopolists have one thing in common: they will always put their own agenda above the needs of the average citizens!

Comrades, it is time for us to take action against the monopolists! We need to break their economical power! We need to break their military power! We need to break their political power! We need to break the whole system!

I just wish we only had some new citizens to fight for. 😛

I see you picked a lesson from our fallen hero Gen. de La Rey with the gifs. Too bad the message is not the same, because being against war in a war game and in which literally every nation in the world is preying on having as many battles as possible is a disservice to the eNetherlands. But almost the entirety of Congress already told you that so I do applaud you to find a new audience!

That monopolizing all battles should be stopped, for the sake of the younger players. Sadly that is not possible, as it is encouraged by Erepublik. The game just isn't fair.

I wouldn't say that ever has been different, certainly not worse than in ''our times'' when people would just buy massive amounts of gold for ridiculous amounts of RL money. Seems to me more an inherent problem with progression within eRepublik in which new players never can catch up. You can also only ''pay'' so much to win vis-a-vis other old players (except irrational and rare amounts of spending, of course).

Is it monopolizing, or just how the game forces people to act, though, in a race to the bottom manner? I don't think many people intentionally 'monopolize' battles (else there wouldn't be so much worldwide battles). This can all be blamed on the linear progression in the game (strength, ranking points) and will never change.

Every single time I asked Weekstrom if i could go for BH in the following round he agreed and did not hit. MafCeez is not that active and does not really grab BHs often (at least in my perception). If you try asking Weekstrom about it I am pretty sure he will let you grab some, I think they are there because often, when they are not, BHs in lower divs go to foreign players.

Go build yourself some food companies and create a free market. Oh and you can get that gold by supporting the resistance wars or mentionned above by getting some D2 BHs.
